by every poll, the dems should take control of the congress and senate. if, on november 8, the repukes still have control, what will you do?

7. I don't know...
...seriously.

I know that I am hopeful that we will prevail. Right now, that's what I have to feel. I'm volunteering
many long hours, to ensure that likely Dem voters get to the damn polls. I have to have hope, to motivate
me through the election.

If they do steal it this time and win--I guess I'll see what the level of outrage is and what the plan is.

I know last time--I was comforted that I had DU to vent and to feel heard. This time, I just don't know if
venting is going to cut it. Moaning and groaning on a messageboard will feel empty this time. I don't know
if I can take the same painful process again---waiting for a Dem to stand up, waiting for someone to contest
the election, waiting for something big to happen.

If they steal it again, and no one does anything---I think I will have lost complete faith in our system, and
I will assume that it's time to consider other countries in which to live.

8. We should immediately concede and be good sports about it.
We will look gracious if we do, and that will get us more votes in the future. More votes in the future will make the job about 15% more irritating for Republican hackers because if the spread is different, they might have to reprogram EVERYTHING.

If we can't be good sports about it like last time, I suggest that we scowl: serious, menacing scowls. They will know how totally unhappy we are and it will definitely get to them. If scowling is too bold an opiton-- if there are some who don't feel comfortable in full-scowl, then I would suggest scowling-on-the-inside.

In the end, when there is a boot in our face, we will at least know that we were right-- and that's something isn't it?

9. Steal me once, shame on me, STEAL 3 elections then what?
There is a clear pattern of election fraud taking place beginning with the Baffoon Administration straight on thru the second and we are looking at a third. The Dim lit Party is behaving as if the lights are on, but nobody is home. I am just a citizen and have little power to police every state poll, but the bigger question in my mind is why has the Dim Lit party not learned from the real crooks in their sticking together as a team when and where it counts? Why has it been 2 elections now and nobody has taken legal steps to fight on legal ground for criminal acts of sabotage? If you commit illegal acts thru the mail, jail time is serious stuff. So, I would think most any ambulance chaser would have plenty of fodder to fluff their office based on the many counts of voter fraud cases that clearly could be a class action suite on behalf of all Dems disinfranchised? Am I insane in thinking legal action is possible or is everyone out there ASLEEP at the polls? Just think we only have 2 years to get this under control or national rebellion could begin in the streets and even I do not want that.

You're forgetting that Chuck Hagel resigned as CEO of ES&S six days before announcing his candidacy for the Senate in 1996. His own voting machines gave a first-time politician a landslide victory that was contrary to all the polls. Then he was re-elected by an even more enormous margin in 2002. Amazingly, he won in solidly Democratic precincts, poor ones, black ones. According to the voting machines, he was the people's choice everywhere.

HotHoneyBlond? And I thought I'd seen it all!

Welcome to DU, HotHoneyBlond, I love it! Doubt I will ever forget your moniker.

Legal action will take place. It might even include some of the, as you put it, Dim lit, party honchos. We can only hope.

There are a contigent of folks, heck, a small army, who are up to speed on the stolen elections gig, but you wouldn't know it by a casual persual of DU. Check this link of the Election reform forum here on DU:

Work hard to find and publish the 'mistakes'.

There are many people who will be looking real close at the numbers, and any funny numbers they find, we all need to get behind that information and get it spread around as fast and wide as possible.

First of all, not "every" poll has the Democrats capturing the Senate. In fact, most polls don't. So quit spewing and just work to get out the vote.

23. hard to say what...
one would do as an individual if, as in the past rapes, we see everyone else just "relaxing and enjoying it".

Being a really old fart, i recall first hand such events as the "poor people's march" on Washington, which resulted in a tent camp on the Mall for several months - full of people just living there to make their point that the fed govt was ignoring them. I remember the day the antiwar protestors attempted to shut down the capital - by blocking bridges and stuff - it pretty much fizzled - several hundred were arrested and detained at RFK stadium, eventually released because nobody could testify to anything. the cops could not keep track of whom they had rounded up for what. They had a ring of dc transit buses bumper-to-bumper around the white house. Johnson was at an undisclosed location. People got their heads busted at the democratic convention protesting the nomination of humphrey (big mistake for our side there) because he was supposedly johnsons lackey. hhh would have gotten us out of that mess, i expect.
I was at one of the marches on the pentagon, watched a woman in peasant dress putting long-stemmed flowers in the rifle muzzles of the troops ringing the building. i even got a dose of tear gas.

Why do I bring this up? Just sentimental, i suppose. there was a time when people expressed themselves in ways other than typing on a computer late at night. Ways that were visible, that got the attention of the press, made the evening news.

And you know what? Those in positions actually to try to do something about it would be influenced. Hearkening back to my opening line - mob psychology can be a wonderful thing. by merely protesting visibly, we could stimulate authorities to do their frickin jobs.

I'd venture to say the supremes might have pondered a little more open-mindedly if several major cities were ablaze, like after the MLK assassination. Don't know it would have changed it, but it wouldn't have hurt for them to be acutely aware that half the country was REALLY PISSED, rather than just thinking they had a cool opportunity to have their own little majority-rules democracy of nine people to select their president.

The AFL/CIO is campaigning hard, has a massive GOTV to support dem candidates. Maybe a shutdown of the country would be in order. Everyone just don't go to work. No public transport, no cops, no nothing. just go on strike. they cant shoot you for not doing anything. (well, they can, but it would be harder to rationalize). those of us not in unions could show solidarity.

i don't know how long it would have to go on before something gave way. labor strikes go until management has lost the war chest it saved up to weather the strike, then negotiations happen.

if the country was on strike? gdp tanking like crazy? automakers shut down, railroads shut down, airlines shut down? gives one pause, doesn't it?

start showing up at their events. get on their mailing lists, etc.

if tons and tons of democrats started asserting themselves w/in the republican party, we could jerk it to the left so fast the nutsies wouldn't know what to do.

just a thought. a scary, scary thought.
