New SurveyUSA puts Brown up 20 (yes, 20) in Ohio!
Holy cow!!

October 26, 2006
In Ohio, Brown on the Verge of Toppling DeWine
In Ohio's U.S. Senate race, a new SurveyUSA poll finds Rep. Sherrod Brown (D) crushing Sen. Mike DeWine (R) by 20 points, 57% to 37%.

Brown led by 14 points in an identical survey just two weeks ago.

Key finding: "In Western Ohio, DeWine led by 18 two weeks ago, trails by 10 today, a 28-point swing to the Democrat."

1. That is GREAT news ...
Kinda puts a lie to the "the (R) base is coming back" line we've been hearing lately.

2. The trend appears to favor Sherrod Brown and suggest that Mike DeWine
is on his way out.

I doubt if most of us will miss him.

Ohio is going to be a real blue state in 12 days' time.

3. I saw Brown and Dewine on TV briefly. Dewine doesn't belong
to the same species the rest of us do.

4. This news is thrilling!
Despite his crappy vote on the Torture Bill, Brown has a very liberal record as a Rep. It'll be great to see him in the Senate.

5. A L A N D S L I D E !
One of my favorite tunes with that name:

I took my love and I took it down
Climbed a mountain and turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
'til the landslide brought it down
Oh, mirror in the sky -What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changin'...ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life?
I don't know.....I don't know
Well I've been afraid of changin'
because I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder, even children get older
And I'm getting older too....
So, take my love...take it down
Climb a mountain and turn around
and if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills...
well the landslide will bring it down
The landslide will bring it down

6. I have a hard time believing that.
Some of SurveyUSA's methodology is off by quite a lot. I say Brown wins by 10% or so.

7. Dewine's negative attack ads are really "working" --
against him!

We are being bombarded with negatives ads several times an hour here in my area in NE Ohio. They are evidently driving more voters to vote for Sherrod Brown.

I just wish that Dewine would lose his pensions and benefits like many of us little people have.

8. Finally we're getting a REAL Senator instead of a SenaTURD.

All of the big city papers, caring more about their handlers and corporate contributors who Mikey DeWine's and dines rather than those who actually BUY and SUBSCRIBE to them, are endorsing this little gap-toothed mangina for some bizarre reason.

The Blame Dealer is operating on the fucked notion that Brown's economic vision reads like something out of the "AFL CIO playbook", as if that's a BAD thing. Yeah, it's a BAD thing to not want corporations to use 10% of your revenue to compensate your top 5 executives. It's a BAD thing not to want economic prosperity and a fighting chance for everyone making less than $300,000 per year.

I will shed not ONE tear for this dickheaded rubber stamp's exit. This guy has not ONE positive accomplishment or helpful-to-the-middle-class vote to run on, and even today, the Blame Dealer's Bewshbot Stevie Koff is praising DeSwine for "working across party lines" moreso than Sherrod does in Congress, as if voting WITH progressive positions over 90% of the time is, again, a BAD thing. DeWine SHOULD work against his pro-war, anti-labor party if he was worth a shit.

Fact is, he isn't.

Get the hell back to Greene County, stupid. NO one wants you here except your wealthy pimps.

10. Yes!!
I will be so relieved when the election is over, votes counted, and Brown is our Senator, Strickland our Governor and so on and so on. Ohio is due for a change in management big time.
