Thirteen days to the election. How many people wish it was Nov. 8 already? Those tight Senate races, those seesawing Congressional districts... we're so close to bring Congress back to the American people. I'm going to be nervous until I see the hard numbers after the voting (and hoping that they are the REAL numbers).
Then we just have to worry about a lame duck session trying to do as much damage before Janaury.
I don't know too much about Lame duck politics, but it seems to me that dems won't be very cooperative in the Senate should they try to pull something big.
A lame duck session will still have the current leadership in control. Democrats (especially if we win back both houses) will be emboldened, but they won't have the votes.
Remember it was a lame duck Congress that impeached Bill Clinton.
6. If you can't stand it now, I'd invest in sedatives.
The tension has only just begun to ratchet up. And it won't end on election night -- there will be irregularities and quite likely they will be high stakes.
So buy some booze and something else that is compatible. Or go out and do some GOTV to burn off your nervous energy.
