Dems -- don't let the coming election chaos work for Rove!!
The new way that Republicans win elections is through chaos.

Rove can't simply steal the election through gaming voting software when the pre-election polling is showing such a spread in favor of Democrats.

And so Rove will use the tried and true technique of kicking sand to obfuscate.

Knowing that the elections are lost for Republicans already, Rove has fallen back to a second "barricade" -- the AFTER ELECTION FRACAS.

He may send teams to deliberately confuse and foul elections. He will rejoice at every report of voters turned away, machine error, tampering, polls closed, every thing that destroys confidence in election integrity.

Expect agitprop. Expect thuggery. Expect provocateurs, infiltrators, bad calls. Expect propaganda.

Think of Katrina. Think of Iraq. Chaos produces the win for Bushco.

Think of elections 2000 and 2004. Chaos works for them.

Think of Rathering. Think of Scooter Libby. Sand-kicking works for them.

The only defense for Democrats? Call Rove out now. Deploy spokespeople now. Openly, on national media, predict the playbook. Shine the light on the probability that Bushco will manufacture election chaos in order to win an end-game.

And have observers and teams of lawyers at the ready. Not just to document/investigate the election machines, but any possible infiltration and thuggery.

I repeat. Rove has accepted the actual loss of the elections. He's now planning to execute a chaotic end game.

1. I figure Rove will call for weeks of recounts and not accept the
results due to the voting machines and blame it on the dems.

3. You are absolutely right.
Starting now, the Democrats need to go to every media source available and, "predict the playbook". That IS what needs to be done NOW.

As you said, "Shine the light on the probability that Bushco will manufacture election chaos in order to win an end-game." Republicans are desparate.

Also watch out for Republicans to declare victory IMMEDIATELY...... before the full vote count is in. (Like they did in 2000.)

Democrats need to BE PREPARED to fight.

7. what they are doing right now plays into this
Right now, Republican pundits are "admitting" that the elections will go to the Democrats. They are capitulating. Cheerfully, I might add. Talking about how they'll come back in 2008.

Beware.

As you say, they'll capture the MOMENTUM on election day.

5. I agree. We have to get in front of this one.
If we can get this message out..the people will be looking for it and will ascribe it to the correct perps.

Repigs will try to use confusion as an excuse NOT TO ACCEPT the results of the vote.
Then Rove will point to our outrage at the stolen elections on'00 and '04 and say "what's good for the goose. . . ". And an unalerted populace will believe him.

This is the greatest threat to our taking back the house. IMHO

8. This article from 04 supports your premise "Karl Rove in a Corner"

Read the first few paragraphs about his client -- Perry O. Hooper, who lost his election.

Rove started a recount battle that lasted a year. Dirt, legal manipulation, chaos. Hooper was eventually certified as winner by the state Supreme court.

<snip>

The recount stretched into the following year. On Inauguration Day both candidates appeared for the ceremonies. By March the all-Democratic Alabama Supreme Court had ordered that the absentee ballots be counted. By April the matter was before the Eleventh Federal Circuit Court. The byzantine legal maneuvering continued for months. In mid-October a federal appeals-court judge finally ruled that the ballots could not be counted, and ordered the secretary of state to certify Hooper as the winner—only to have Hornsby's legal team appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, which temporarily stayed the case. By now the recount had dragged on for almost a year.

When I went to visit Hooper, not long ago, we sat in the parlor of his Montgomery home as he described the denouement of Karl Rove's closest race. "On the afternoon of October the nineteenth," Hooper recalled, "I was in the back yard planting five hundred pink sweet Williams in my wife's garden, and she hollered out the back door, 'Your secretary just called—the Supreme Court just made a ruling that you're the chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court!'" In the final tally he had prevailed by just 262 votes. Hooper smiled broadly and handed me a large photo of his swearing-in ceremony the next day. "That Karl Rove was a very impressive fellow," he said.

13. this is the one ploy that could explain Bush-Rove-Cheney confidence
While all polls are showing defeat for Republicans, and while other Republicans are admitting their peril, Rove, Bush and Cheney are optimistic.

Why?

Because they know that election day is only the beginning of their battle.

They plan for chaos to ensue. They will help chaos ensue.

And then comes the battleground in the court of public opinion and the courts.

Sounds like the terrorists won?

If the GOP challenges the election results, remind them that President Gore won, then Kerry....fix those election results first, then maybe we'll give'a'sh*t :hi:

17. Someone needs to ask Rove and make it public if he believes that
electronic voting machines are accurate. That way, he's on the record as having to say yes and when the tries to claim that fraud occurred, it will be on the record he believed in the system he created and controls. If democrats happen to win, (highly doubtful since the machines are fraudulent,) he can't cry election fraud. If Republicans win, then democrats can continue to have little trust in a system that has such disparity as exit polls and actual outcomes.

dominate news, manipulate media (and voters) and possibly preempt elections.

Naval Interdiction Exercise Said Planned for Persian Gulf

We've got a lot of ships and equipment over there right now.
The exercise is set for Oct. 31. Happy Halloween!

I'm telling everyone I can to expect something like this. The desperate Repugs will sink this low to retain power.

I'm hoping not, but... nothing surprises me anymore.
