Does the ADA ratings mean anything
to the progressives on here? I am just wondering because of some of the postings that I am reading. Some of the candidates have pretty good ADA ratings, but they are being called conservative. The new face candidates are being called progressive, but their voting records are more conservative than the so-called Washington establishment candidates.

What is more important to you, ADA ratings or a new face?

By the way I am with the General for now, but he doesn't win the nomination I could and would vote whoever won the nomination.

6. Your ADA rating used to define how progressive you were. Until Now.
Americans for Democratic Action (ADA) is America's oldest independent liberal lobbying organization. ADA founders included Eleanor Roosevelt and renowned economist John Kenneth Galbraith. Current ADA President is representative Jim McDermott, arch enemy of Bush’s Iraq policy.

ADA Lifetime scores for candidates with congressional records:

Sen. John Kerry 92
Rep. Dennis Kucinich 86
Sen. John Edwards 85
Sen. Joseph Lieberman 78

Other past presidential candidate scores can be used for comparison:

Ted Kennedy 88
Al Gore 66
John McCain 9

- - - - - -

John Kerry’s extraordinarily consistent lifetime progressive record often surprises the casual observer of the presidential campaign for the simple reason that certain candidates have focused on attacking senator Kerry on specific votes in order to garner support from liberal voting blocks.

8. Yes, Kerry's lifetime is great
His recent time is pretty sad: NAFTA/WTO/Patriot/IWR And his voting percentage is also pretty sad.

9. Yeah, and now it looks like we're stuck with him.
Don't get me wrong. I'll vote for Kerry if he's the nominee. Not because I'll want to, but because I'll have to.
