1. The first question he asked was
"Are you a Communist?"

2. Damn! I wish ...
Colbert would, for once, STFU and let her speak!

4. I thought it was just me
But he WAS rude to her, disappointed in Colbert tonight. Kept cutting her off. She is a national hero and would have gotten applause if he let her finish. Anybody know what that was about?

6. Yeah, she seemed a little taken aback
by his aggressive shtick. It didn't go very well, did it?

9. Not well at all.
Of course, he is trying to pretend to be Bill O (R-shithead)

I, too, think he went a bit overboard. On the other hand, I normally don't watch his show-just don't care for it-whereas, tonight, I stayed with it all the way through. That says something, but what?

8. It's all just part of his act, sometime he goes a little overboard...
with it. I rarely like his interviews with liberals.

10. I felt there was a different edge to it tonight
I am a Colbert afficianado, and I can definitely say he set me on edge with the way he went overboard trying to cow her repeating questions about the soldiers not going back to Iraq being criminals, etc. etc.

I don't know what it is in their chemistry, but for some reason I think he just went after her for personal reasons.

I am very disappointed in him tonight.

14. Me too
He definitely went after her. Even ended with - we're out of time - never seen him do that before. She handled it gracefully.

12. That's odd.
I guess they were pressed for time. I hope they don't make a pattern of that.

They should have skipped the segment with the actor.

15. That would be tough going , Amy Goodman isn't renown for her
sense of humor.

16. Right.......
I think Colbert was just being Colbert (the memisis O'Lielly that is). Amy really wanted to use the opportunity to get her points out but that does not usually work on that show.
With Colbert - you have to play!

The left lawyer who brought the Constitution that was nearly all blacked out got it right.

17. Colbert being his character (maybe a little extra)
I understand that he spends some time with each guest in the Green Room, setting them up a bit; I remember reading what Markos M. wrote when he was on -- that SC was one of the warmest people he had ever met.

I would like to think that everybody who goes on kinda knows what to expect, and those that have a real honed sense of humor (Tim Robbins? Did you see Arianna H last week or so?) can occasionally turn the tables on him.

I love Amy and have seen her twice here locally; she signed her book for me when she was here doing the fundraiser for KPFT, but she is not the wise-cracking sort.

Just sayin'.

18. She may feel that the subject matter
that she deals with is not really that funny:shrug: and that people dying because of this cabal is criminal, not comedy.
