This past Monday night. John hi lited Pat's racism when Pat was describing that Mexicans should learn our lanquage and culture. John said, "You mean beat the Mexican out of Them"?

1. The problem with Pat and his ilk is

That he expects this to be instantaneous. I sincerely doubt that many adult immigrants, Germans, Italians, etc., in the past were able to fully integrate, but when they came here, they were able to find neighborhoods where their former fellow countrymen lived. Moving there they had an instant support structure and were able to survive without fully integrating. Their kids, grandkids, etc. though became more and more integrated, and I think it happens faster nowadays. I do magic and balloon twisting, and most of the kid parties I do are for Mexican immigrant families, where I have to set up the deal in Spanish, but when I get there, all the kids speak English and want me to twist them Spongebob Squarepants, Scooby Doo, Power Rangers, etc.
