Why Did Edwards Do So Poorly in the Southwest Last Night?
Did Edwards choose not to contest Arizona and New Mexico? Was this similar to Dean's not really making an effort at all yesterday preferring to work Michigan and Washington? Or is Edwards not popular in the West/Soutwest?

Curious?

1. he didn't campaign there, no time!
But look at all the delegates he picked up in SC, Oklahoma and Missouri. Tell me why Clark was hovering around Sharpton in SC and Missouri?

you can't focus on everything in such a short period of time

3. LOL - An Edwards question
turns into an unsolicited Clark slam!

Clark got hosed in SC without a doubt -- not so much by Edwards (the favorite son) but by Kerry particularly.

With respect to Arizona, I understand that Edwards did spend a good amount of time there over the course of the year; certainly, more time than Clark who had a few days worth of visits to AZ since entering the race.

I'm not hooraying for Wes Clark at the moment, he has a long uphill climb but Edwards has a similiar climb himself: behind Kerry in both TN and VA and a veritable no show in MI, WI, WA, etc. Neither one of these fellows is in a strong position at present.

disclaimer: I'm a Wes Clark supporter.

4. Aren't both those states for Medical Cannibis?
and he's dead set against it. He hasn't a prayer in California.

He hasn't a prayer in California.

Edwards and Clark have a problem in California, and that problem is that being from the south doesn't score you any extra points here.

6. Why Do You Think Edwards Will Do Poorly in California?
After the Arnold Election, I've given up predicting anything out here.

But I'm curious as to why you say that Edwards "hasn't a prayer in California."

7. Latest polls
And I post this as an Edwards supporter:

Kerry 49
Dean 18
Edwards 12
Clark 8
Undecided 5

I fully expect Edwards to finish 2nd in CA, but its going to be something like 55-25 similar to the MO results.

10. he seems to be focusing on the south
his strategy seems to be focused on the south. he campaigned really hard in south carolina with oklahoma the second most. and he is now focusing on tennessee and virginia.

14. He's a niche candidate now
Has the makings of a national candidate for the future, but needs more seasoning.

Does well in South where the people are easy to fool -- just look how they went for *.

A good 8 under Kerry and we'll be in the White House for 16 years!
