Timeline & Deadlines - just get them out of Iraq

I am upset at the IWR vote back in Oct 2002. Now is the time for democrats to make amends to get our troups out of Iraq.

Of course I want immediate pull-out and I'm sure I speak for a vast majority of people here at DU. However, I see reason behind 'Timelines' & 'Deadlines' but damnit - I want to know that we are getting our troops out.

The sad thing is even if we get the Feinstein bill (Timeline) with the Feingold amendment (deadline), you know Bush will totally ignore it and keep us in Iraq. I mean, the Oct2002 IWR was NEVER a green-light for invasion but a signal to Bush that he could go to the UN and get backing from them for the war (which never happened).

I just want to know where our senators & representatives stand now. And if they voted for the IWR in Oct2002 now is the time to make amends and support this new legislation

1. The deadline amendment is Kerry/Feingold

I assume it replaces their individual ones. They extended their date 6 months to get more support.

Democrats expect neither amendment to pass - the point seems to be to show the Democratic alternative. What we need to do is to support (if we agree) the logic behind what the Senators are proposing. Only the CIC can actually make these changes.
