Once Repub Corruption is Exposed, Next step is DECERTIFY Repub Party
In cases where a political organization is so corrupt, right to the top, it is permissible to place restrictions on their activities with which they must comply in order to be allowed to participate in our elections process -- or in other words, DECERTIFY the entire party until they not only promise to abide by the law but demonstrate they are abiding by the law.

You say the Government cannot do this? Sure it can, and it does so right now. Otherwise you would have so-called political parties made up primarily of organized crime, racial hate groups, etc.

The key is that when a political party participates in the criminal process of harassing minorities, suppressing lawful voting, miscounts and/or fails to count ballots, solicits and uses illegal campaign contributions, all of these are punishable as crimes. Where there is evidence that these acts are repeat violations with no intention of following the law, yes they can be decertified and fail to appear on the next election ballot. There is no other way to protect the democratic election process.

The evidence needed to support such an action can only be obtained with Congressional subpoena power, and that means you need a change in the Republican Party majority status in one of the Houses of Congress after the next midterm elections. So given the importance of avoiding Democrats obtaining a majority and subpoena power, you can bet that this will be the dirtiest election Republicans ever participated in in this country.

2. Isn't that like what Hitler did?
Besides, it would be unconstitutional.

3. Stupid idea without any basis in law
First of all, from a practical standpoint, there are tens of millions of Americans who identify themselves as Republicans...nearly as many as identify themselves as Democrats. You think its possible just to tell them that they can't belong to that party any more? Get a ticket to reality.

Second, as a legal matter, all it takes to form a party in most jurisdictions is to have a name, an address, register with the state, and get enough signature on a petitions or votes in however many elections the law designates. While some states nominally require that the party not have an ideology that advocates overthrow of the government, that's hardly a hurdles and, no, the republican party does not advocate overthrow of the government no matter how far they may stretch the law.

The reason you don't have hate groups etc forming parties (although some times you do) is that they can't get the membership level they need to be recognized as a party. Or, in most cases, they don't want to. Or maybe they do advocate overthrow of the government. But if you can cite me to an example of a political party being "decertified" for anything other than lack of support in the past 50 years I'd be surprised.

Possibly the silliest post I've seen today, which, given all the JL/TO/Rove crap, is really saying something.

4. They stole an election and used terror and intimidation...
to disrupt and manipulate the political processes.

They shouldn't be de-certified.

They should be labeled a terrorist organization, and all Republicans should be declared Enemy Combatants.

5. thanks, I needed a chuckle today
Not even a bad hollywood script writer could come up with a plot where 60 million republicans are locked up as "enemy combatants"!

6. Well, you're assuming that 60 million would go peacefully...
I would hope that a good many of them would "resist arrest."

So, maybe only 20 million Repukes would actually need to be re-educated and treated for VAT2 Genetic Disorder.

That's a satirical riff.

8. This is a lot like "impeachment" talk....
It feeds right into the Freeper scare tactics. Me? I'm going to keep a low profile on any talk like this.

9. No way. That is just plain wrong.

And YES, it is what Hitler did essentially, though he was more direct about it in banning all other political parties.

It was also what was done to the Nazis after WWII, but of course they had unarguably (well, except possibly by Busheviks) started a hideous war that resulted in 50,000,000 dead.

And while the Busheviks are VERY similar to Nazis in thought patterns, propaganda, attitude towards lying, absoluteism, and eliminationism (of a milder form), they cannot yet (and hopefully never will, though that is far from certain) be said to be even close in deeds to the Nazis.

My point being that the "decertification" of any party due to "corruption" should be a LAST or a NEVER option.

And yes, I do agree with you that Bushevik vote theft will be desperate and tremendous in scope. It was 3-5% in 2000, 6-8% in 2004, and 10-12% in 2006 and 2008 (maybe worse, at some point the amount of rigging becomes irrelevant).

Trust me, in actual vote totals, the Democrats need to win 60-40% just to gain more than three or four House seats, if even that much is permitted.

Does this mean I am sitting on the sidelines? Nope, just in case I am wrong am working and donating to the Dems. So don't get the idea that I am advocating giving up.

10. Just what we need.
A ONE PARTY state. A lot of Europeans have been there, done that. It didn't work out too well.

11. An example .....
Republicans were caught using "caging" lists --where they identify minorities for harassment, challenging their right to vote based on the characteristic of their race. They were charged under the voting rights act, and they entered into a consent agreement with the Government in which they promised they would refrain from such conduct in the future. In the next election there was evidence that they and their agents engaged in the same kind of conduct, in the same jurisdiction. In that case, the Presiding Judge had a range of sanctions he could have employed.

"Decertifying" a party is another way of saying if you do not follow the law, you can be prevented from appearing on the ballot. Talk to the Libertarians --they can tell you all the times they have been kept off the ballot because of their having failed to comply with technical requirements. They were "decertified" from appearing as a party on that ballot.
