5. Stop saying that

Every time we say something like that, there are elements on the Repressive Right who take it as a personal challenge. The Republican candidate who's saying that his Democratic opponent may not serve out his term because of his medical history was the last lowest of the low. Bush's crocodile tears (even though the article doesn't say it's Bush shedding a manly tear) is surely quite low.

But you start comparing them, and rating them, and some GOP apparatchik somewhere is going to grab a shovel and say, "Low, huh? I'll show you low!"
