A Big Night for Edwards
He won SC, looks close to winning OK, and got 25% in MO. That's impressive in my book.

1. Yes, indeed. Now we wait and see how the media spin it.
And, if the dynamics of the race chance significantly. Nail biting time, guys!

3. Dole attacking Edwards on CNN right now
What a slimeball (Dole that is). Dole clearly wants the nominee to be Kerry.

4. He knows that Edwards is a stronger nominee than Kerry.

8. I'm a Deaniac and I'm happy.
I like John Edwards. I want to see his smooth-talking skills up against stumbly-mumbly *.

10. i dont know if i agree
Kerry won 2 states with 50% of the vote (so far)... that's a pretty big story - no one had really won a state before.

11. But that was when the inevitability and electability were still a factor
People will evaluate after these races, in my opinion.

6. 25% in MO?
I haven't heard anything above 20%, but I wouldn't be surprised to see JE gain as the night goes on and rural returns come in.

A win in OK, where he leads by a few hundred votes now, would be huge for Edwards. It wasn't expected, as was his win in SC. It surely isn't good for Clark, and it makes it a Kerry-Edwards race. I wanted to get a longer look at Clark, but the media declared him not-ready-for-prime-time and he's out.

7. JK wins the 'popular' vote of the night, but not by much
Based on my ultra-scientific calculations, using the lastest pen-and-paper algorithms.

Well, I added up the numbers from the states where CNN lists results so far (excluded North Dakota and Arizona) at around 9:40 PM. Kerry had 207,844 votes, Edwards had 195,601. It's amazing to me that these numbers are so close. Obviously, Kerry's will increase when Arizona and North Dakota roll in, but still. That's not a wide margin by any means. I'm surprised, I was really expecting Edwards to do well in SC but not other places.

12. It's Edwards with a rocket!
You're right! JE had 25%. At 9PM CT, he had 26%. I blinked and it was up to 27%.

This is FAR better than the polls showed in MO in recent days. That, combined with the SC win and possible OK win and I'd say Edwards is coming up fast on the inside.
