Dick becomes Dunce, and pardons Monkey AND himself. Then he resigns. Though we thirst for vengeance, there's no way he would go if he were gonna be punished. He slinks back to his ranch, and Dick slithers off to his undisclosed location.

Speaker Pelosi becomes President. She nominates, and the Senate approves, John Conyers as Vice President. The entire cabinet submits their resignations. The only one who gets to stay is Norm Mineta. A competent team is put in place--Bill Clinton becomes SECSTATE, for starters.

A Democratic Congress and White House roll up their sleeves, give the country a SERIOUS talking-to, and we all have to sacrifice, especially the rich, to get this country back on track. Fuel/energy conservation, increased tax burden for the wealthy, combined with aggressive alternative energy research...oh, and we get the UN to go in and police Iraq until they get their shit together. We're OUTTA there. Stem cell research; revitalization of AMERICACORPS, restoration of Al Gore's lockbox, massive investment in education, particularly engineering, science, and medicine, and aggressive adherence to rule of law and transparency in government.

It'd be tough, but we could do it. We're gonna HAVE to do something!!!

I know whatcha mean about vengeance, but my dream has a tinge of realpolitik about it! He wouldn't go if he thought bars were in his future.

Of course, we could always add a new chapter...three years later, Monkey's headed down the road from the ranch, headed for the liquor store, in his pickmeup truck, drunk on his ass, going 75 in a 35, and kills a neighbor's cow. He's busted for DWI, and because of his prior offense, has to either do jail or community service. He chooses jail because he knows the public despises him. Ranchers hither and yon spit when they hear his name, the cow killer.
