How can you reconcile your HOTSHOT panel's assertion that the American people don't care if their phone records are being mined by the government when YOUR OWN MSNBC POLL states OTHERWISE? Who paid your panel to lie to the American people about their concerns re: wiretapping? For goodness sakes...take a look! It's at 85% AGAINST the government spying domestically. 65,000 votes registered. 85% see it as an intrusion. Again, how do you people reconcile the bs you spew on your cable news channel? Unbelievable.

The thing on their website isn't a poll. It is a self selected bunch of people. The Washington Post presumedly used statistically random ways of selecting the people who they asked. That makes their poll more accurate. The other point about wording is right.

It isn't even a little contraversial that random samples can be small and still valid. 500 strikes me as on the small side and thus the MOE must be fairly large on the Post poll. But it still runs rings around the 65,000 self selected people. To see one example of why say Robertson sent a questionaire to 70000 of his followers charging them $10 to respond. Do you think his poll would be an accurate representation of the country's views on religion?

Measuring public opinion is a science and real scientists are in charge of polls like the Post's. Without seeing the poll in question, my guess is the MOE is around 6 or so percent.
