Howard Dean is saving Dems
His work has been brilliant and innovative. He's taken a job with a limited role in a hostile town with a hostile news media and delivered a remedy to the Dem party, revitalizing its grassroots and educating voters, while training new Dems for leadership positions.

He stays on message, doesn't get distracted by Rove's tactics (like other Dems sometimes do) fights hard and teaches others to do the same.

He's also done a great job of playing to the party's strengths, ie focusing on jobs, health care, fiscal responsibility.

2. Sounds like the good old days to me - when
we worked the grassroots going door to door.

Now I would be reluctant to go to some doors for safety's sake.

3. On the backs of GLBT?
No thanks. I don't want that kind of help.

6. You're sadly mistaken
but if you're that easily tricked by the GOP, then there's not much we can do to help you.

9. Nah, I've felt this way for a long time.
It just confirmed my belief, that's all. It's not a new thing.

11. Well, maybe
you're more GOP than Democrat.

16. What about getting gay marriage in VT?
He almost lost re-election for it, and it's one of the reasons he lost in Michigan in the primary. I think he said what he said because of where he was--which all politicians do. Heck, Clinton told everyone he was against gay marriage and even tried to get Kerry to run on that, but he also did make some things better (not nearly enough, granted). Dean got results when he was a governor, and that's what I'll look at.

8. "He stays on message, doesn't get distracted by Rove's tactics"
Except that he quoted a false clause in the Democratic platform to pander to the 700 Club.

13. Sorry, I don't listen to Rush
so I don't know where this line of reasoning is coming from.

Dean's actions speak for themselves, and they represent the best of the Democratic party.

17. I'm with you. Dean is great.
A few mistakes, a pander or two is not a major problem.

Dean gets it, and is working to win.
