Scarborough: It's going to be a long, ugly final 2 yrs for this president
NO LINK. Scarborough just said it on his show (6:15 PM Pacific time).

He finished off a segment on Bush's low poll numbers with Joe Klein (Time Magazine) and Tucker Carlson.

Concluded by saying that if Bush's poll numbers stay as they are, or get worse, the Democrats will take the House, the Senate, or maybe BOTH in November, which will result in "a long, ugly final two years for this President."

WATCH the repeat tonight on MSNBC. Scarborough basically said that Bush has "big visions" but no plan to carry them out. Slammed him on "Mission Accomplished." This was NOT a Bush fluff piece. Even Carlson admitted that Bush is screwed...said he wanted to root for him because it's so popular to bash him these days, "but I can't."

5. Impeach. Indict. Imprison!!!
In a fair world, the neocons would spend the rest of their lives in prison. I think the new definition of "war criminal" should say "see 'neocons'".

7. That day wont come........
soon enough for me!! I long for the day to see these criminals escorted out of our White House at gunpoint... or at least in cuffs... and to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

11. And It's Going To Take A Very Very Long Time To
repair the damage that's been done! This is the saddest part. For the most part we tend to focus on the Big Picture, but just stop and think about the thousands of appointments and cushy jobs THEY gave or created for their cronies! All of the US of A!

It's makes me shiver with fright! :scared: And mad as hell! :nuke:

12. Oh you're very right. This wasn't just one presidency. The
damage will last for a long time to come.

If we make it that long, and haven't nuked the planet.

30. Bush and Neocons
They will NOT go quietly into the night. They have their master plan and will do whatever they have to if it looks like they are going to lose power.

Every once in a while, he throws out the talking points.

8. He no longer "blindly defends" Bush...
...I'm not 100% convinced that he's completely written Bush off, but yes...I remember the Katrina broadcasts and "Citizen Joe" backed up a few steps after the cake-sucking, gee-tar strumming failure-in-chief did NOTHING.

Unless Karl Rove brings out the usual wedge issues and the Dems. do nothing to answer them.

10. Scarborough said guns & abortion won;t win the 2006 midterms.
He failed to mention gays, the 3rd spoke in Karl Rove's Wheel 'o' Smear, but maybe our pal Fitz will have more pressing matters for Rove to attend to in November.

13. I heard that as a scare tactic to "get out the base."
As in, "The Dems are SO close to taking the House, and maybe even the Senate, and if that happens the next two years will be mired in paybacks."

14. Could be...
...like I said in one of my replies above, I'm not convinced that Scarborough has completely jumped ship...

But whatever the reasons may be for him saying it...he IS saying it...as opposed to taking victory laps over Bush's "success."

20. We need a valid response to the "payback" theme
Edited on Tue May-02-06 08:57 PM by acmejack
It's becoming a familiar refrain, it must be a new talking point that they may be able to employ with a fair measure of success. We need to figure out a reasonable reply to put these fears to rest, there is enough to be done that people are tired of all the screwing around with impeachments and such.

I know, I know!! I'm talking for the political neophyte!

edit fwiw I'm of the mind that all of this cabal must appear at the Hague!

19. Why should the last two years be any different than the first six?
The entire Bush pResidency has been an ugly thing to behold.

Notice Scarborough's subtle spin here. The cause of the "long, ugly final two years of the Bush presidency" is because the Democrats take over the House and Senate in the fall. In other words, if the Republicans keep control, everything will be cuddly puppies and warm cookies and rainbows over Amurika.

21. "a new talking point"
Quite a few Rethugs are saying this stuff. It is designed to make Dems complacent for the '05 Elections. Dems should be aware that these elections are going to be viscious and fought hard by the Rethugs.

26. Well, They Paid $500K For Nuke Material
It just got caught.

So, they drilled a hole in a pipe at another nuke plant - and, IT was discovered, too.

So, they're working on another catastrophe. I agree with you.

They're gonna get us again. And half of Amurka will go for it. But, the other half will convict the bastards. I just hope it's not MY town - but, SOMEbody's town is gonna get fucked up before they go down.

Bush WILL NOT walk gently into that good night before raging for the dying of the light. Well, really darkness, but, that's not as poetic...

28. I think Carlson was trying to toss Bush a "martyr bone"...
...you know, our fearless leader in a time of war being attacked by the liberal media. So by saying that he WANTED to, he actually DID, but Carlson's distinct lack of cojones made him dance around the subject instead of coming right out and saying it.
