Today is a very good day -W&Co are "ATE UP"
I am loving what I am seeing and hearing.

W is ate up. "Ate up" is an Army term for someone so worried about their screw ups that they don't focus on what they are doing and they screw up more.

They can't spin this port thing anyway that doesn't come out smelling like poo and they are continuing to fling it around hoping something anything sticks.

W can't get credit for ending a deal without looking like he is too connected to them while clearly unconnected (in a bubble) to his fellow Americans.

W also can't issue press leaks that he is upset without looking like he is anti-BIDNESS.

Lastly Mehlman comes clean and says that not only do Dems not have an agenda to run on they don't have *gasp* a SLOGAN!!!! The politics of bumpersticker policy just popped up and bit them right on the arse. The port deal failed simply because it sounded bad. First impressions are huge and the party that can't argue on merits or logic so they claim that "perception matters" (see they can do photo ops) just got perceived as being out of touch, slack on security, and nothing but a swirling spin machine that is beginning to feed off of itself.

Ate up.
