The Republicans are going to lose.
From now until the election, they will spin distance between themselves and Bush and use cheap psychology to sway voters against the Democrats. Actual headlines:

GOP growing increasingly angry, frightened by Bush's missteps

Rove vs. Clinton: ‘F-E-U-D-I-N-G’

Dems Poised to Win US House, Bipartisan Poll Reveals (This one is from the GOP)

To all the Democrats fighting to win back the Congress, kick ass!

1. Watch out for the rpigs to launch some big gay-bashing platform
or prayer in school issue across the US and to put these issues on state ballots to bring out their base.

2. But the "base" is only 30%, right?
Don't you think that moderate repubs see the light? If it's only his base that's behind him, that's not enough to pull off 06 wins in house/senate.

4. I Think You are Right
There are more Moderates in America than Left or Right. And most Americans just don't pay attention...

6. Excellent point - they do seem to be pulling away from the party, not just
from *

8. That religious base is not enough to get them elected; but the flag
waving and gun lover base is strong.

5. Gay marriage, illegal immigration and 'support the troops' are
the big three. They're also using the sub-wedge of gay adoption as a back up.

Last night there was a major new report on the escalating violence the border police are having to deal with.

Scary stuff - who will protect us? :sarcasm:

9. Here in Texas they're back to cutting taxes and family values.
Gay bashing, abortion, prayer, etc. issues only play to the 30%. Lower taxes and "values" play to a wider audience.

We've got to figure out a way to counter these! While values seems easy, lower taxes is a toughie.

7. They are already putting referendums on state ballots
to ban adoptions by gay couples.

And I would not be shocked at all to see a push to get other state legislatures to ban abortion or to put it to a popular vote.

And if none of that works, there'e always flag burning.

10. Certainly it will be nicer
To have a Democrat majority congress. However, I am sorry to have to say that at this point I only see ONE party in this country. The corporate party with two different flavors - Republican flavor and Democrat flavor.

And even though the Democrat flavor is many times better than the Republican flavor. Nevertheless, we the working class people will still suffer unjust wages and compensation, we will still suffer the erosion of our civil liberties as the corporate state continues to further its monopoly on power and empire, and we will continue to be further marginalized in every other aspect of our society. And at this point I have to say that it deeply saddens me to have to say that I, at this point, have no faith in the majority of the American people to either fully grasp the situation that we are in until after it is too late, or to fully appreciate what (none violent) means can effectively be used to correct this problem.

And so I will continue to go along with the crowd who offers the lesser of the two evils until which time enough people wake up and realize the power we working class posses. Then hopefully we'll see this corporate blight removed from our political system and put in its proper place as a servant to the people instead of their master.

One day perhaps........

Edited on Fri Mar-03-06 09:57 AM by Independent_Liberal
We're going to make them lose. I'm going to give it everything I've got. And screw the naysayers! What I'd like to know is, if they don't want to fight, why do they even bother hanging around this place?

is where Repugs go to repent:

Bruce Willis (after all that bravado) denies that he is a Republican:
