Poll question: Brokered convention: Who gets the Nom?
Edited on Sat Jan-31-04 05:52 PM by Capn Sunshine
Many folks are seeing that Kerry has peaked, Dean has peaked, Clark is flat, Edwards doesn't have the momentum and is too green, Lieberman is dead in the water, Sharpton is Sharpton, Kucinich is too elfin, and everyone else just can't garner enough votes in the primary to win this thing in a single convention vote.

My question , should this come to pass :

Who will get the nomination? Please be honest, this isn't a vote for our guy beauty contest. I say Hillary. But I'm conspiratorial, ask anyone. In "Other" Category, I'd have to go with maybe Harold Ford?

On edit: a brokered convention means no single candidate has enough votes to garner the nomination going in after the primaries. This creates some strange bedfellows, and interest groups play a much more influential and disproportionate part ( DLC anyone?)

5. Isn't it silly to think
That one of the running candidates won't get the nomination? Maybe I do not understand what a brokered convention is exactly.

9. Probably Kucinich. Think logically. Dean's offended everyone so he's out.
Supporters of most candidates like Dennis but are afraid he can't win the primary because the news media is hiding his existance. However, with the publicity of the nomination, Dennis will be known and he is the candidate with the best chance of beating Bush. There is nothing Bush can use against him and Dennis always beats Republicans.

10. You suggest Kucinich
and then tell people to think logically. That is some subtle, suble humor.

I'm seriously curious whether Kucinich will be allowed to speak at the convention.

11. My Predictions
This is definitely going to be a brokered convention.

Many surprises between now and July.

Liberals and Progressives will FINALLY stop letting the media dictate who is "electable" and start to think for themselves.

They will "come home" to their real preferred candidate.

Dennis Kucinich will win the nomination.

It is interesting that he is not even considered a poll option at this point.

12. He's the common denominator
The unoffensive choice in the circular firing squad. The ABDean, ABKerry, ABClark, ABLieberman, ABEdwards crowd can get behind Kucinich.

EFK!!!! Everyone FOR Kucinich!

Also by then the Bushies will have really played up the danger of a terrorist alert and we need to be strong on national defense.
