Tweety: Bush's Warrantless Domestic Surveillance "A Winner Politically"
Matthews: Bush’s Warrantless Domestic Surveillance Is “A Winner Politically”

Today on the Chris Matthews show, Matthews asserted that the President warrantless domestic spying program was "a winner politically":

MATTHEWS: Elisabeth, a couple weeks ago the Democrats thought they had the president’s number on this NSA spying thing and then Karl Rove came out a week ago and said “no, this is a big winner.” How is the president turning the NSA surveillance question into a winner politically?

ELISABETH BUMILLER, NYT: It took them a while. It took them about a month to get their act together on this…

1. Rove Must Have A Pic Of Him With Gannon
I've never seen somebody embrace the dark side so quickly - and so comically. Somebody HAS to have something on Tweety.

My bet is somethin' sexual.

3. Tweety gets big tax cuts from Bush and the GOP. With those,
he bought a 4 million dollar house on Nantucket. Also, Tweets is the quintisential mediawhore. He works for GE after all.

But, as you said, Rove must have some pictures of Tweets somewhere.

4. This is right out of the Rove playbook-attack YOUR strongpoint
This is his MO. They are trying to use this issue as another wedge and a test/show of loyalty. Circling the wagons, which side are YOU going to be on?

BTW-all this spin and PR is fine and dandy. We know he broke the law so when he is convicted they can whine and complain and cry from their culture of victimization all they want.

2. I can't fathom the contempt he must have for his average viewer
I hope he's making enough money to fill the void where most of us have a soul.

5. How Could Anybody Come To That Conclusion?
When approval ratings are 40%, they are NO winner ideas! None. Man, Matthews appears to be getting dumber rather than gaining wisdom.
