So NOW we're rebels. We're radical. We're not part of the base.
We're noisy. We're persistent. We're an angry mob. We're only good for the money we have. We upset them. They don't understand us. They don't want to KNOW us. We're forcing them to earn their money for a change, and they don't like it.

We're bloggers, and they wish we'd go away.

A real pity that ain't gonna happen.

Isn't that what the Dems and the MSM are for?

Beltway Bullies don't understand technology. So they dismissed it.

I expect a full swiftboating after the Alito push.

Blogs Attack From Left as Democrats Reach for Center

By Jim VandeHei
Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, January 28, 2006; Page A06

These activists -- spearheaded by battle-ready bloggers and making their influence felt through relentless e-mail campaigns -- have denounced what they regard as a flaccid Democratic response to the Supreme Court fight, President Bush's upcoming State of the Union address and the Iraq war. In every case, they have portrayed party leaders as gutless sellouts.

<snip>

Liberal activists seemed to have slightly more influence with their campaign to persuade Senate Democrats to filibuster the Supreme Court nomination of Samuel A. Alito Jr. Despite several polls showing that the public opposes the effort, Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) on Thursday strongly advocated the filibuster plan -- and wrote about his choice on the Daily Kos, a Web site popular with liberals. Sen. Robert C. Byrd (D-W.Va.), a leading liberal and critic of the Iraq war, told reporters Kerry's viewpoint is not shared by most in a culturally conservative swing state such as West Virginia. Senate Minority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) also opposes the filibuster.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) is another frequent target of the Internet attacks. Code Pink, an antiwar women's group with a flashy Web site, plans to protest one of Clinton's weekend fundraisers and is using the Web site to rally people against the New York Democrat. The critics say Clinton has not challenged Bush aggressively enough on Iraq.

<snip>

"The bloggers and online donors represent an important resource for the party, but they are not representative of the majority you need to win elections," said Steve Elmendorf, a Democratic lobbyist who advised Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. "The trick will be to harness their energy and their money without looking like you are a captive of the activist left."

6. OK ... if they don't want to be "captives of the activist left"
would they settle for being captives of the rampantly radical centrists? Or do they just gotta be errand boys of the far right?

It's any Democrat who is intelligent enough to understand the situation. They simply do not like independently intelligent people. It frightens them out of their rigid little wits.

23. So it has come to this...
that I, as a 62 year old great-grandmother, am considered part of the far left, part of an angry mob, part of a radical movement. Damn right, if that's what it takes to shake up our dozing Democratic leaders, and make them LISTEN to us. Oppose Bush. Oppose Alito. Oppose the neocons, and oppose them with everything you've got.

If you don't, we will find leaders who do. It's that simple. During this next election cycle, because I live in Texas, I might not find a Democratic candidate who is liberal enough for me. If that is the case, I will donate my money to a Democrat in another state who WILL fight for all of us.

You can no longer take our votes, or our money, for granted. We want someone who will stand up and fight for us. We are tired of talk, and no action. We are tired of "saving our strength" for another fight, which never seems to come. We are tired of being patronized, and sold out, and not having a voice.

Fight for us, or get out of the way, and we will find the ones who will.

24. I hear you Ninkasa. I am 71 with 6 greatgrands, and i think
most of my grandchildren see me as a real radical type, although they are too polite to say so. I only wish I had the energy to take to the streets again. But I try to do all I can to help oust this nest of thugs. It is like living on the fringes of hell these days IMHO.And has been this way since 2001. I am sick of it and live for the day when sanity returns. There are more of us than anyone dreams. I know many who feel the same as DUers do. I know we cannot trust the same old pols who want to have another go at becoming president. We need new blood and to see the demise of the DLC,imo.

34. I think there are a lot of us, anitar1
We don't look the part of wild eyed radicals, do we? I suffer from osteoporosis, and arthritis, and walk with a cane. I am fairly slender, a little lady getting older, always glad to have her grand or great grandchildren over to visit, and to cook for. We enjoy watching Harry Potter movies, or LOTR, depending on which one is over, and what age they are.

It's because we love our families so much that we are so angry. I would love nothing more than to relax and enjoy life, content with growing older surrounded by a loving family, but I can't enjoy it knowing that our country is becoming a war mongering fascist state, led by the most incompetent man to ever disgrace the office of President.

I am far left because we have to bring some balance to the extreme tilt to the right that the country has undergone over the last 20 years. I am tired of compromise, and of leaders who refuse to lead, and to fight, but what we believe in. You are right...we do need new blood, and to see the demise of the DLC. You say, "I know we cannot trust the same old pols who want to have another go at becoming president." You are so right about that. It's their political ambitions which make them mute when they should be shouting, and which tie their hands when they should be coming out swinging.

26. Here is the REAL god damned problem!
It's called the Council On Foreign Relations, It's a hard Right, GLOBALIST, Anti-American, rich man's, CULT and ALL of the powerful democrats belong to this elitist club right along with the radical right. Either party that wins, if a DLC democrat or a repub, represents the CFR and the Trilateralist's game plan. Poppy Bush's "New World Order" isn't just the GOP's baby, it is the Clinton's and the DLC's baby too. Check this out...

2004 Council on Foreign Relations Membership Roster

(as of June 30, 2004)

http://www.geocities.com/benribqqq/cfr2004roster.html

Roster of CFR/Trilateral Commission Members

http://www.apfn.org/apfn/cfr-members.htm

CFR Mission Statement...

http://www.cfr.org/about/mission.html

The high ranking DLC democrats are standing in line for a piece of the pie, when we take over the world, like the PNAC wants to do. Iraq was a step in that direction.

Look at how many of the democrats in congress now, voted to give Bush the go ahead to invade Iraq and then look at how many of those very same democrats who backed Bush's play, are members of the CFR crowd.

If you look at these membership lists, you'll see why the MSM is on board with Bush 100%...

27. Words are just words
But sometimes we can't help having a reaction to them when they are directed at us in a way that misrepresents who we are and what we are doing.

The best thing I do lately is step back and think before reacting to the smears against those of us fighting for our nation. Bullies at school use the same tactics as Repukes: demeaning, dismissing, attacking, threatening, mocking. But we know the bully is weak inside - as weak as his bravado is robust on the outside.

Instead of going on the defensive, I rely on offensive verbal maneuvers (no pun intended).

Bring it all back around to the bottom line. Deal with them as you would a small child. You are the rational, disciplined adult; the child is impetuous and self-serving and greatly in need of correction.

The fools throwing away my nation do not move me to care what they think of me nor do they belittle me into silence nor do they cloud my purpose and principles. I always see these clearly, and ignore the fools and their prattling.

Once we give up searching for approval, we find it easier to earn respect.
