WILL YOU RESURRECT A RICH TRADITION OF REPUBLICAN RELIGION?
Though the previous headline hammers the main topic, do you think this next tag is better?

$ CASHTIANITY: A ZEALOUS MILITARY INDUSTRIAL DEATH CULT :nuke:

Before charging ahead, can we look back? Can you remember when the Republican Party was an honorable adversary? Sure, she was a spoiled crybaby rich-bitch but not long ago the party showed a semblance of character and almost seemed to care about our country. Now she is a “great whore from the west every ruler must sleep with,” as predicted in Revelations.

Eisenhower was Republican and he did not dodge the draft, like today's no deLay, quick-pay Ney rip-off artists. In fact, he was the first president to point out the current threat for Democracy, which now steals our legacy of liberty. I like Ike for warning us of a Military Industrial Complex, which now controls not only Democrat or Republican but also House, Senate and Executive aspects of government. The ravenous reptile he warns us about thrives on war and has an appetite for money that will most certainly spell economic ruin for our nation. This twenty-five cent term represents the fangs of a serpent that snag political rivals together as it poisons Democracy. Make no mistake, these venomous hooks also dig deeply into your pocket and tear families apart when priceless sons and daughters descend into wholesale slaughters that profit only political puppeteers already richer than God. Defying justice, the privileged few who actually gain from war never sacrifice their children to the cause.

Like in Eden, it tempts your leaders with treats for their votes as it taunts people into thinking religious enlightenment is at hand but all this slithering nemesis of humanity offers is war, lies and larceny. It lies to those who will listen, telling them of virtues in Fundamental block voting, while ordaining the victims as Evangelical recruiters. Once those poor foolish Christians take the mark of this beast, they are divorced from Christ and married to profitable war and big bribes. What is the number of this beast? Well, since 6 Tribes were defrauded out of 66 million, I'll let my readers do the math. We should no longer refer to these poor souls as Christians.

They have traded Cross for dollar sign and now think mostly of a gold god, while banishing true God to guilt-riddled Sunday service. Let's call them Cashtains practicing Cashtianity from now on, okay? It will likely make some upset but they no longer deserve the honor of us calling them Christians.

Admittedly, I am relatively new and not up on subtle policies in DU, but surely, there are rules of decency that protect Pagans, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists or Christians from bigoted bashings and sanctimonious slurs. I know this: If we post messages that target ANY religious group, we chance destroying alliances with shy, lurking readers seeking to abandon a false profit that lies incessantly and embrace a political platform, which aligns with the teachings of Jesus. Will we resurrect a rich tradition of Republican religion or reach out to true Christians?

4. I'd have missed it
Thanks for pointing it out! Nice to meet you mindem... do you agree that we should stop bashing particular religions... When we do things like that, it reminds me of rupuke sites lashing out at other belief systems, like Pagans, jews and Muslims. It's just another form of bigotery... BY TH WAY DU PAGANS... HAPPY HOLIDAYS...I don't know what the actual astronomical event is called in the various pagan belief systems but it's in between equinox and solstice at about this time of year.

To 668 and why they were altered... Thanks freeper moderator for showing you're there and in power at DU.

As to you name calling Ian; why not be specific when you run your mouth. I've spent a great deal of time, effort and money to protect your freedoms, what have you done? I DO like the new term you just made up but can you explain what a "rejectionist" is and why they are bad?

As you added subsequent posts, your total went up. Too bad. 666 was nice.

10. Thanks
As you see I'm a bit religious and found the whole thing so spooky that I started tightening up the thumb-screws on the sides of my tin-foil-hat... I'm pretty new at wearing one but after I started reading DU message boards, I decided it was time to try a little tin on top. Is this head-gear uniform of the day or just the latest fashion craze around here?

9. Relax! I meant that in a good way. I'm a Freedom-Hating Rejectionist too!

In fact, that's what I'm going to call my blog: The Rejectionist.

As we fight the enemy in Iraq, every man and woman who volunteers to defend our nation deserves an unwavering commitment to the mission and a clear strategy for victory.

A clear strategy begins with a clear understanding of the enemy we face. The enemy in Iraq is a combination of rejectionists, Saddamists and terrorists.

BUSH: The rejectionists are by far the largest group. These are ordinary Iraqis, mostly Sunni Arabs, who miss the privileged status they had under the regime of Saddam Hussein. And they reject an Iraq in which they're no longer the dominant group.

Not all Sunnis fall into the rejectionistcamp. Of those that do, most are not actively fighting us. Some give aid and comfort to the enemy.

11. Thanks for...
Calling me a new word that is not in the dictionary, which at first bugged me, now pleases me, since I see who truly invented the term. Also thanks for the link... I read enough of it to see Dur Fuhrer hint that the term can cover anybody not just Irquis... If the spin tyrant makes up any more silly labels for bigots to adopt, please find me at DU and call the new name that proves me to be his adversary immediately, if it wouldn't be too much trouble. I'm sorry for lashing out at you: I wish I was able to do that turn-the-other cheek stuff or rise above my vicious animal nature but I guess I'm just not good at practicing what I know is best.

I wish I had finished reading the Tyrant's speech but I got real queasy and ran to the bathroom. I must be coming down with swine flu or maybe it's simply an allergic reaction to pigs.

Anyhow, I did read his joke and realized those cadets are some of the most dedicated people in the world and many are actually wishing they were attending scheduled classes. You know, everyone isn't into cutting classes like the spin-tyrant obviously did or skipping out on their country by dodging the draft, only to also skip out on national guard duty.

12. Anyone who opposes the Bush policy is branded an un-American traitor
"a freedom-hating rejectionist."

In other words, anyone who opposed Bush's plan to take our freedoms hates freedom.

After further research, I don't think I'll name my blog "The Rejectionist," since there is actually a terrorist group named something like The Rejectionist Party.

But "Freedom-Hating Rejectionist" (as opposed to just rejectionist) is still a badge of honor.

14. OOPS
Sorry Ian,

That was a mis-quote... That's what I get trying to quote a story off the top of my head I haven't read in decades.

Here's what I meant to call the republican party: "THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH," not a whore from the west. I apologize to all you freepers who so like bashing me at my posts... I don't want to short-change your fine party, there's more:

3For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

5For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

for more information on the republican party see Rev.18

13. Religion does not have a political flavor.
Bill Clinton has always been very clear about that. And, you are right and as he has pointed out, Democrats cannot afford to ignore the traditional Republican Southern type voter.

The problem is the so-called evangelicals. I actually attended a Foursquare denomination Bible college in the mid 1980s (hard to believe, eh?) because I was a lapsed Catholic adrift. Having studied the Bible, I wrote my thesis proving two completely opposite points, substantiated by scripture, and it was at that point I realized unequivocally that the Bible is a collection of folk stories to be subject to exegesis, not literal interpretation. Too many of the so-called "holy-rollers" pick and choose their particular brand of Old Testament fire and brimstone that allows them license, at least in their own minds, to act out their most horrible selves.

These modern day, finger-wagging morality monitors almost never quote the New Testament, the gospels, and the Psalms, because they tell a story of peace, love, understanding, acceptance, tolerance, and humility. That doesn't fit into their hate-propelled agenda. But this IMO is the true message of the Bible. I have reverted to being agnostic again, mostly because I have completely shut down as a result of the hypocrites claiming Jesus said it was okay to beat homosexuals to death.

But that isn't religion. That's a cult. And there are some decent god-fearing, church-going people who are appalled at the status quo in this country and can see through those who invoke God's name to do their dirty work. These people come in all political persuasions, ripe for a leader to lead them out of the wilderness.

Bill Clinton told John Kerry he could not ignore the religious south, and he was right. We can understand that the Rovian "magic" was already in play and Kerry was shut out from the get-go. However, the time is right to call bullshit on the system. I'm damn sure Jesus would not get behind torture and shock & awe. Jesus spoke forcefully about lifting up the poor. Today's Republican Party ignores the teachings of Jesus Christ - the very "christ" in Christian.

No, my friend, you are spot on in your analysis, and kudos to you for bringing up this subject among us heathens (ha!) here at DU. I firmly believe people are waiting for a leader, a decent, god-fearing leader that believes in the substantive biblical teachings. I think it is understandable and justifiable to slam the hypocritical holy-rollers for their blasphemous invocation of Christ to sanction their sinful, hateful, corrupt regime. But there is an ocean of people adrift, waiting for a political savior, and we must be open to all that support the cause of bringing a new day to America.

Kicked and recommended. Food for thought for all DU'ers.
