GMA lead story - Al Queda regroups . . .
Edited on Wed Jan-25-06 08:38 AM by heidiho
This was a devastating piece of journalism - ABC's Good Morning America lead off this morning with the story of Al Queda regrouping en masse in Afghanistan. Lots of video footage showing training grounds with hundreds of recuirts shouting "Long Live bin Laden" and "Death to America."

This is so huge - it definitely shows that the Bush policies on terror have failed.

Hope this is going to get massive coverage.

3. Not to mention the fact that we can't do anything about it.
Harmid Karzei is reduced to pleading with Afghan warlords to reduce the amount of drugs being produced in Afghanistan. Yet the economy is dependent on that money to run. Karzei can't move on anything without really pissing off the factions.

According to Risen's book State of War, Afghanistan is a narco-state and the US is actually looking the other way and propping up the superficial sense of order by allowing the warlords to harvest and sell drugs. OMG! This is going to bite us in the ass big time. We can't take out the drug warlords, who are favorably disposed to the Al Qaeda people becuase then Afghanistan would collapse into civil war. And who is moving all that drug money anyway? What bank is providing financial services to these people? And is any of this money, that the US is allowing to be collected and moved around, being used to buy arms and ammunition to fund Al Qaeda and to kill Americans and innocent people in the area?

4. Pisses me off - this was what Kerry attacked Bush on throughout 2004 and
media, INCLUDING ABC, refused to realize the import of what he was saying in their efforts to make Bush out as some savior from terror.

AMERICANS are stuck for generations to come with the growing hatred towards us - thanks to Bush and the many lies of the corporate media that protected him for so long.

focus on what Kerry is not doing and not what Bush is f****** up. Check: Bush is the Crook in Chief, not Kerry, even though it may appear that way because he is one of the most vocal critics pointing to the flaws in Bush's policies and offering solutions.

It's one thing for those still buying Bush's BS, like his speech in Kansas, to ignore reality, but people who oppose Bush need to pick someone---anyone---who can make a difference and spread his/her message to counter Bush. That's the best way to amplify the voices in opposition (above the media) of this liar in the WH.
