VA-2008: No doubt about. Warner would carry VA.

Part of me (just a small part) wishes Warner would run for senate in 2006, mostly because these numbers are so promising. But I respect his decision to seek higher office. He's been a great governor, and if he ever makes it to DC Im positive he will have a great impact there too.

2. Mark Warner's record, FWIW:
http://www.ontheissues.org/Mark_Warner.htm

He's a centrist leaning to the right according to that record, and I disagree with his stance on GATT, NAFTA, and the WTO, and I disagree with his stance on continuing the failed war on drugs. He'd make another good Bill Clinton-type presidency if that's what Dems want, but I'm looking for a New Deal-style Democrat on economic justice.

date and not very accurate (at least when it comes to Warner). Checkout the Warner DU Group for a more accurate description of Warner. Definitely more centrist than your average DU'er, but definitely a solid democrat. Probably a little to the left of Clinton, but yes you pretty much hit the nail on the head with the Clinton analogy.

7. A Clinton Presidency would look pretty good right now
A train wreck would be an improvement over Bushco

3. How would he look after multiple smear campaigns?
Whoever runs for president against the repugs will face at least two levels of smear.

The first level will be the socially acceptable smear, such as, Kerry is a flip-flopper. The repugnant goon VP candidate will spread this one.

The second, gut-level sewage lie with Kerry was that he didn't deserve his medals.

These same scumbags that attacked Kerry will be after Warner in exactly the same manner.

They will find some under the radar, under the rug fact about Warner and manufacture some dirt out of it. They will then employ surrogates, like the Lying Swift Boaters, to spread it.

And CWM (Corporate Weasel Media) will repeat it for them.

4. My choice for 2008 that's Warner/Clark...that'd be a fab ticket :)
Politically I have a majority of the views that Mark Warner has...and I just adore Wesley Clark anyhow.

Darn, we should have had Clark/Edwards or Edwards/Clark, instead of Kerry/Edwards.
