Brian Lamb, C-SPAN, and Lobbyists...
Edited on Fri Jan-06-06 10:56 AM by kentuck
Brian devoted most all of his show this morning to lobbyists and their influence. That is all well and good. But the issue is not just about "lobbyists". It is about bribery and those that hand out the bribes and those that take the bribes. It is about those that succumbed to the dark side of criminality.

And all lobbyists are not equal, as Brian tried to corner his callers into admitting. A lobby that might lobby for the interests of millions of Americans is not the same as lobbying for a taxcut for the top 100 wealthy people in America. However, if a Congressman takes money from either lobbying group to buy a boat, to pay his bills, to take a golf vacation to Scotland, to further his personal wealth, he has broken the law and his obligation to his constituency.

In my opinion, Mr. Lamb distorted the issue by making the program solely about lobbyists, as important an issue as that is. There is a serious problem with lobbying but the more serious problem is with criminals in our government.

1. It's the same tactic they used to defend Swiftliars - they said ALL 527s
should be pulled instead of exposing the ones set up to lie and smear.

2. Lamb was upset because he couldn't get the anwers from the callers

that he wanted. he kept questioning them, like: Lamb - but the money they are giving back is not the same money they got. that money has been spent. does that make a difference to you. he would say to the callers.

he was stuck on the money being given back for some reason.

3. I wished I could've called
but I tivo it. Anyway I would've said, " Look at all the reps who voted yes on the Bankruptcy bill and right there you have how many crooks? For no other reason than bribery would that have passed,
