http://political.moveon.org/iraq -- the liberal group's plans to deliver 400,000 signed petitions to Capitol Hill and to 244 lawmakers' offices around the country tomorrow demanding the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iraq by the end of 2006.
"The left wing organization MoveOn.org has announced its intentions to conduct events and activities in your states and districts in opposition to the war in Iraq," reads the memo. "It's imperative their efforts are met with a swift response, exposing their liberal views far out of the mainstream."
Tom Matzzie, the Washington director of MoveOn, disputed that characterization in an interview today. "I would challenge the RNC to list more than two or three positions we have taken that are outside of the mainstream of the American public," he said. "The public stands with us on the war, not Republicans."
