CBS News trying to raise our Iraq war morale...
Did anybody see CBS News tonight? They've decided to add to the segment where they honor the war dead.

From now on, every night, they will do a piece about Iraq war "heros", like Melissa Stockwell, who lost a leg in a roadside bomb. I believe she is the same person who recently said she'd give up her other leg for "freedom". Bartcop wrote about her recently and asked how many more limbs did she want to give up for Dick Cheney's stock options.

I'm not saying that these people are not incredibly brave and heroic, but I think CBS is just jumping on the propaganda band wagon to score points with Bush. I'm also sure that Bob Scheiffer, big-time Bush buddy, has his fingerprints all over this.

It's your old friend, formerly know as MissBevey, the "Deviled Egg Lady". How ya doin'?

I think we're all overdue for another SF Valley DU party.

10. Did anyone catch his dissing Ramsey Clark?
He flat out said Ramsey Clark was a left wing nut with no credibility. I'm paraphrasing but not by much.

2. Maybe designed
to soften the blow as the injured return home in wheelchairs as well. If we see them on TV first, it won't be as much of a shock to see the warriors come home.

I rode in the elevator at work yesterday with a deeply tanned young man with a high-and-tight haircut and deep shadows under his eyes. And oh yeah...his legs are gone.

It breaks my heart, you know? And to use them for yet more propaganda sickens me.

17,000 wounded, so far. Could be even more than that. I think up till now they've been pushed to the side so we don't have to face the horrible truth.

7. I remember a few Rather pieces as well
Support the soldier, not the war. I say put the wounded IN THE FACE of America. They need to SEE what happens. It ain't John Wayne taking the hill.

8. They've been doing this for quite a while.
Dan Rather started doing this I think a couple of years ago... PBS News Hour have been doing this since the war began, I think CBS followed along dont' remember exactly, but it's been a while.

nothing new there.
