Another "Near Miss"
I'm not impressed. Where is Osama?

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - The operational commander of al-Qaida, possibly the No. 3 official in the terrorist organization, was killed early Thursday by a CIA missile attack on a safehouse in Pakistan, officials have told NBC News.

5. I'm sure there was military involvement. The CIA role was probably
target location.

10. Hmmm. CNN is reporting that he died in an "explosion"
but no mention of a missile strike.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- A senior al Qaeda commander died in an explosion at his home in a tribal area of northern Pakistan, officials said Saturday.

Abu Hamza Rabia, who was in charge of international operations for al Qaeda, apparently was working with explosives when the blast occurred, killing him and others, said Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Pakistan's information minister.

11. Oops. Guess the MSNBC minders were sleeping on the job and let facts out
Isn't it amazing we've 'progressed' to the point where a CIA missile attack in another country is reported as 'ho-hum'? How I long for the days when we would attempt to cover such things up.

12. I wonder if its a missile attack that is being covered up or vice versa?
I would think that maybe it was an accident that someone is trying to take credit for.

16. To the Pakistani government, it's much more useful to call it an accident
so that their countrymen don't get angry that the Pakistani government allows the U.S. to do such a thing. They're going to have a little trouble deluding the locals, since they found US missile fragments.

19. Who knows..I hope you're right.
The article isn't specific on who else was killed.

Missiles aren't a very clean way to administer justice.
