Please send this information to all your Canadian friends...
We Canadians are going to the polls in late January to vote for our next Federal Government.

We're in danger of getting a Conservative government with a leader not unlike Bush.

If Stephen Harper gains power he will be a boost Bushs fortunes because suddenly the PM of Canada will be making supportive statements of Bush.

Please send the following quotes to any and all Canadians you know...especially if they're undecided in the upcomming election:

"It was the Conservative party that urged the government to enter into negotiations with the United States on BMD in the first place. We supported the decision to be involved in missile defence through last summer’s amendment to the NORAD treaty."
- Stephen Harper in a letter to the Ottawa Citizen March 04, 2005.

"Nay."
- Stephen Harper voting against a motion urging the Canadian government not to participate in the US military intervention in Iraq, March 20, 2003.

"Thank you for saying to our friends in the United States of America, you are our ally, our neighbour, and our best friend in the whole wide world. And when your brave men and women give their lives for freedom and democracy we are not neutral. We do not stand on the sidelines; we're for the disarmament of Saddam and the liberation of the people of Iraq."
- Stephen Harper, Friends of America Rally, April 4, 2003.

"I don't know all the facts on Iraq, but I think we should work closely with the Americans."
- Stepehen Harper, Report Newsmagazine, March 25th 2002.

And there's more at www.notacolony.ca/HarperonUSA.htm

Thx.

1. Ugh
Please don't elect this guy. I want a country I can move to if things get too insane here. Canada, please don't be like us.

2. There's nothing wrong with America....
It's your leadership. Good leadership and good attitude (as expressed here) will move you in the right direction.

It's one of my bugaboos to see Americans talk of moving to Canada. It reeks of giving up on your Country, and frankly if you're that fickle I'd rather you stayed home! I would never dream of leaving Canada regardless of how far we strayed.

Stay and fight for your Country. It's critical that America be put back on track, and you are instrumental in that.

6. Do you really think he's going to win?
All the conservatives I know here at U of T don't even like Harper. I often hear them lament "It looks like I'm stuck with the Liberals 'cause Harper's such a sleeze". The Torries are behind in the polls too. I don't see a Harper government forming anytime soon.

7. I think there's a danger of it, absolutely yes...
He could win not because of who he is, but just because of all the crying about Liberal corruption.

It seems that the fact Paul Martin was vindicated not only of responsibility but of even "carelessness" by a judge known for his conservative bent is lost on most Canadians. I keep hearing over and over "Oh, he was Minister of Finance, he HAD to have known!"

These are dangerous times for Canada, we have to fight for our Country. If Harper wins I have no doubt the next thing we face will be a referendum in Quebec.
