1. Because the more we do to discredit the admin now, the better 2006 will be

2. Because it may become necessary to act sooner.
We need to keep impeachment in the dialog because things are beginning to look very bad in the White House. With further indictments possible, including Cheney and Rove and others, Congress may need to act quickly. We need to consider impeachment now because the future of our country may lay in the balance.

7. Wouldn't that make some centrist repubs vote against impeachment...
by voting for a republican rather than voting for a democrat if the impeachment issue weren't an issue?

I say keep quiet about impeachment and allow Iraq and the Deficit run the next election.

8. What if Cheney and Bush are indicted?
What if Chimp/Crashcart go off the trolley? What then?

I can think of many scenerios in the next months where keeping Chimp/Crashcart in office would become unthinkable. It may come to a point where the Congress will be forced to take action. That's why we need to keep impeachment in the dialog and on the table. That's why Congresspersons need to keep the pressure on.

In my opinion, the point where impeachment is imperative has already passed. If we had a Dem House, it likely would already be well underway.

We should impeach these guys before they do further damage to our country. ASAP, midterms, or no midterms.

9. Dems still have to tiptoe for fear of the word "majority"...
The word "liberal" has been made such a bad word that the perception of the congress or senate being "hijacked" could cost the dems the white house in 2008.

Implementing budget changes, limiting the president's power in Iraq through accountability, and forcing him into his first set of vetoes (which can be the worst blemish PR-wise) will do far more damage to the GOP.

Don't get me wrong...impeach the whole administration and indict them for an illegal war. Practical for the future of the country? I think it'll be perceived as reactionary.

10. Lessons from 1973-1974.
The talk of impeachment does not spring whole like a phoenix out of the ashes of a presidency. It is a movement that builds slowly and deliberately. That's what happened in Watergate. Events bore out the position of early callers for Nixon's impeachment. The few left holding up for Nixon were far and few between in spite of the fact that those advocating impeachment early were labelled "radical". After October, 1973, the so-called radicals were in the clear majority.

If anybody doubts that Chimp/Crashcart have done impeachable offenses, let them enter the dialog. From the polls we have every reason to believe that the many, many citizens of the US would see impeachment as possible, even likely. Reports from inside the White House are increasingly worrying. Nothing is going well for this administration--*NOTHING*. That is not good for this country, let alone the rest of the world.

The time to talk impeachment is now, not later. It's certainly not appropriate to wait because of a perception of political expedience. We will be proven correct soon enough--maybe sooner than anybody can imagine. It can only help to talk about it now. Let them call us anything they want. The people are now with us. It's time to push for accountability.

3. We have to get the momentum going starting now.
It takes a long time to sink a notion like that into the public consciousness, especially with the media against you.

Also, I believe the Repigs will do the job themselves in order to salvage 2006. They know he's poison, especailly after the election we just had. He campaigned for a GOP gubernatorial candidate (Kilgore) in Virginia, and the next day, Kilgore dropped by 6 points. Bush sealed his fate.my prediction: the GOP pushes Bush out by August 2006.

4. Because he is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors
and very soon we can run all of our candidates under the heading .....
"Had enough?' and any republicans who want to keep their jobs will
have to vote to impeach him ..... we haven't even scratched the surface
to the mountain of evidence that will hang bush.

58% of Americans now say if he lied to get us into Iraq he should be
impeached ... nuff said.
