Reugs always ask DEMS to give a plan ...
on what to do about Iraq. As soon as they spell out different points on these talk shows you begin to see them taking portions of it and putting it in their speeches. If not that they start acting like they have been on top of it all along such as the Abu Garib scandal, while in the meantime they are planning up another evil scheme or start planning their cover up.

1. it's classic "opposite" strategy
accuse your detractors by claiming that they aren't doing what you in fact aren't doing.

2. I've got a "plan" for them...
We plan to fix everything you people have screwed up over the last five years, including that mess in Iraq. If you want details, you'll have to wait, because giving you details just means you steal our ideas and try to take credit for them. The American people deserve to hear the ideas, but you folks sure as heck don't. For that very reason.

5. Yes. I agree
They f---up now they want them to give them some pointers, because they know Dems have always been the thinkers and planners that is how this country has been able to function as well as it has all of these years. Everytime they are in power wars begin and the whole world starts to spin out of control.

3. Funny you should mention this. Rude Pundit recently discussed same thing..

very recently...(snip)

The right loves to say any time the Democrats resist or block a Republican bill or nominee or idea, "Well, Democrats, why don't you tell us what you'd like to do? What's your plan?" That's like a rapist getting kicked in the nuts by his potential victim and then asking her, "Well, okay, since you don't want to be fucked, what would you like to do?" The only proper response is not for the victim to suggest alternate activities ("Well, rapist, we could play a lively game of whist"), but to say, "I'd like you to be dead. No, no, even better, I'd like you to be buried alive. In a small coffin. Filled with scorpions. And covered in shit."

4. Hence the democrats response should be....
you show me YOURS FIRST if you have one.

In actuality they should respond by saying, we are asking YOUR plan, the republican plan. You are the ones running this war, what is YOUR plan, or don't YOU have one? Repeat as often as necessary, like a broken record, out of every democrats mouth. They are putting us on the defense, like we are supposed to have the plan, as if "we" are running this war. Then when we do, they rip off some of it, and twist the rest of it.

6. Notice how they are
trying to drown out the fact that Murtha is giving a plan, which they will be using before its over with.

8. Here's a good response from Rude Pundit
Usually he's a bit too crude for my taste but I like his take on the question here:

"The right loves to say any time the Democrats resist or block a Republican bill or nominee or idea, "Well, Democrats, why don't you tell us what you'd like to do? What's your plan?" That's like a rapist getting kicked in the nuts by his potential victim and then asking her, "Well, okay, since you don't want to be fucked, what would you like to do?" The only proper response is not for the victim to suggest alternate activities ("Well, rapist, we could play a lively game of whist"), but to say, "I'd like you to be dead. 11. Democrats always should respond that the first step of the plan is:
When you are in a hole, STOP DIGGING!

This old saying appeals to a lot of people, but its real value to the democrats is that it will make republicans try to defend their actions and the results. And it applies to many issues.
