Dean is paying Car. Mosely Braun 20k per month, but staffers nothing?
Just on CNN, Dean has suspended pay for his staffers and has stopped airing ads in ANY of the Feb. 3rd primaries. Also, he's talking about his 1.5 million internet supporters not supporting the eventual Dem nominee if it isn't him. Uh, Howard, I signed up on your website last year.... I'm supporting whoever the nominee is.

12. Please provide a link
I have heard him say multiple times:

-that he will work for the eventual nominee
-he hopes his supporters will as well
-but he can't control what theyd do

Astonishing, another Kerry supporter spreading vitriol.

6. I'll paraphrase
I don't have the exact quote, but basically he said the 1.5 million people who signed up on his site are not going to back a "Conventional" Democrat. I signed up, and I want Bush out. I feel sorry for the guy but I thought he was about strengthening the Democratic Party, not pulling it down into his pit of imploded flame warfare.

19. How do you get that he's somehow stopping them from supporting the
eventual nominee? I think it was an accurate statement. There are a lot of Dean supporters who will vote for the nominee and nothing more if it's not Dean. Hey, if it's Kerry, I'm not going to feel very enthusiastic myself. Dean gave us a DEMOCRAT to vote for and most of us feel that the other front-runners are business-as-usual, inside-the-beltway politicians that won't make any substantive change.

My vote will go to the nominee. My enthusiasm stays with Dean.

not to support the Dem nominee. That is totally contrary to what he has said in the past.

31. I could be wrong--it could have been l'il Tuckster--
but the pundits are all sort of blending together these days, if you know what I mean. ;-)

It was careless, but most of the talking heads don't seem to mind. As a matter of fact, it's beyond carelessness. It's recklessness.

18. What he said was that
he would support the Democratic nominee whoever it is. He has said this multiple times. He also said that he can not guarantee that his base of supporters would be transferable.

You see his supporters are each individuals and get to make their own decisions in life. Dean was merely stating reality and it has been distorted time and time again around here by people trying to find a bad motive where none exists.

16. LINK TO 20K statement
http://www.boston.com/news/politics/president/clark/articles/2004/01/17/moseley_braun_to_stump_for_dean/

OTTUMWA -- Carol Moseley Braun's support for Howard Dean, a former rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, goes beyond an endorsement. She will travel to early primary states as a surrogate on his campaign's tab. The campaign said yesterday that it has budgeted about $20,000 a month to cover Braun's expenses and offered to hire one of her campaign staff members as a traveling aide, according to Joe Trippi, Dean's campaign manager. 11. I'm sure Carol isn't getting any dough. Her endorsment means she
also takes lumps. The staffers come first. If she did and continues take money for her services then it proves what I always thought about her.

IT also proves why the black community didn't rally for her as well. I lived in Chicago during her senate race and through most of her term. I heard a lot about her in the Black community.

22. Braun is a shakedown artist
She tried to come across as sweet little Carol during her "campaign" (if you call showing up for debates a campaign). In truth, she was a corrupt Cook County ward politician of the old school and profited HANDSOMELY as a senate candidate, a senator, a presidential candidate and now, as a PAID Dean supporter. She is an embarrassment.

20. Where's the logic in that statement? Your assertion makes NO sense.
Sure, Dean WAS paying CMB $20/month as a consultant.

He WAS also paying staffers.

Recent (unconfirmed) reports say that Dean has asked staffers to defer their paychecks for two weeks.

Do you have inside information that he's still paying CMB?

This was a "discussion" on Crossfire.

The whole "Dean is paying Car. Mosely Braun 20k per month, but staffers nothing?" was one of Tucker's "questions" that isn't really a question, just an attempt to stir up the Democratic guest.

" it has budgeted about $20,000 a month to cover Braun's expenses and offered to hire one of her campaign staff members as a traveling aide, according to Joe Trippi, Dean's campaign manager. (AP) "

You linked to this. Expenses cover travel, hotels, etc. FYI Sharpton spent 3500 in one day, in hotel expenses.

She is not getting PAID 20K.

You do not know if these expenses are being deferred either

Your claim, argument, and the title of your post are misleading and false.
