ACK!!! Make it go away!!! Already seeing 2008 presidental bumperstickers
Mind you, I live in Delaware and Joe Biden has already announced his intent on running for President. Now although I personally am find with him as a senator and would vote for him again, I'm not keen on him running for president. And surely I'm not ready to start dealing with the 2008 elections. Hell, I'm not even sure if I'm fully prepared for the upcoming 2006 mid-term elections.

Seeing not one, but TWO Biden2008 bumperstickers felt like seeing Christmas decorations being put up in July. IT'S JUST WAAAAAAY TOO EARLY FOR THIS

:scared:

15. You do know there are many DUers who work in the Credit Card industry
:D

And no, not MBNA, but they actually don't exist anymore - they're now part of Bank of America

19. They all are
The economic backbone of Delaware especially in the northern part is the Credit Card industry. And like I said - MBNA is going away. BTW, the other 2 delaware elected officials to DC (Carper and our only rep Castle) have their offices in the same building as competitor credit card companies. Don't see you sliming this.

This thread wasn't about Biden the presidental candidate but the fact that it's just too damn early to start seeing bumperstickers for presidental races!

Edited on Mon Nov-14-05 01:49 PM by wakeme2008
maybe a candidate's special CORPORATE friends are trying to push their candidate by getting bumper stickers on their employee's cars early.

21. Or maybe you just don't know anything about the state of Delaware
or the state of MBNA.

Kinda difficult for MBNA to do this knowing that they will soon cease to exist and that Bank of America will be based out of North Carolina. Maybe they'll start pushing John Edwards 2008 bumperstickers instead.

5. This is not about Biden, it's about it being too early for the 2008 race
:grr:

I'm just not ready for it. I'd like to see how the midterms turn out before I start committing to a presidental candidate. The reason I'm not supporting Biden is only because I do NOT want another Senator as my presidental nominee. They just don't seem to win!

24. True,...
...but there is reason for optimism.

I don't think we have a DNC chair who will allow the party to be so silent as we were in '02!

BTW, LynneSin, Thanks for the link to TastyKakes a few weeks ago! I also found one for Taylor Pork Roll, too! Our fast is over!

22. Actually, I just put mine on Saturday, and I'm feeling good about it
I've NEVER done that before (or even close). I agree it's awfully early, and your Christmas analogy is a good one. BUT, since I feel certain of the candidate I'll support, why not let my voice be heard, and work that little intangible psychological benefit that advertising accomplishes? It's a tasteful sticker, by the way.

26. At our local drugstore, the Halloween AND Christmas stuff
Edited on Mon Nov-14-05 03:28 PM by tinfoilinfor2005
went on the shelves the last week of August. I said to the clerk, "So where is the Easter stuff?"

No one lives for today anymore. But unlike holidays, lots of stuff tends to happen before elections, so I think it's a bit silly to toss one's hat into the ring when one doesn't know as yet exactly where the ring is located.
