Democrats on the Offensive
Democrats need to go on the offensive in regard to Bush and his claim that Democrats were right with him on going to war in Iraq. Today it was reported that a Bush aid said that Bush will today launch his second salvo against the Democrats who are now criticizing the President for his decision to go to war.

It is now time for the Democrats to launch their first salvo in this argument. Democrats must now come out and talk about how many Democrats including those who eventually voted for the war resolution questioned the case for the war. Many Democrats question both whether the evidence was clear that we should go to war in the first place and whether Bush was moving to fast. In each case Democrats where either criticized as weak on terror and/or unpatriotic. While the Democrats asked Bush to allow the UN weapon's inspectors to finish their job Bush claimed their was no time to wait. During the 2002 election Bush toured the country claiming that Democrats were weak on defense in that they did not share his great desire to go to war immediately. Finally, what might be the biggest claim against Bush is the fact that Bush flat out told member of Congress, when it seemed that Democrats would vote against the war resolution, that even if they did not vote for the resolution Bush would go to war anyway. Bush and his surrogates claim that even with the new resolution the War Powers Amendment gave Bush all the power he needed to launch a war against Iraq.

In conclusion Bush cannot have it both ways. He cannot, when his approval is high and things seem to be going well for him, claim that he is the reason the are going well for the country and if the Democrats had been at the helm things would have gone terribly wrong, but then when things go wrong claim that Democrats were right there with him from the beginning. He cannot, in good personal times, claim that Democrats would not have had the courage to go to war, but then when his fortune turns claim that Democrats only lack courage in that they will not take responsibly for they stood beside him to go to war.

2. Dems believed Bush lies so its their fault
thats their latest line

92 senators lost top secret security clearance after 911: http://www.thinkprogress.org/2005/07/26/bush-pulls-security/

One more thing. When the right says "Were fighting them there" we need to say "I thought we were bringing democracy to Iraq? How is that possible when you are luring terrorists to their country to blow stuff up? and Visa Versa.
