Bush's Veterans Day speech today was offensive to every American
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 10:30 PM by Clarkie1
who believes that Veterans Day is a day to honor veterans.

What he did today was repugnant. He dishonored all veterans, living and dead, by using this the day not to honor them, but to perpetuate his own twisted political agenda and lies.

He proved today by his words and actions that he cares more about himself than our veterans and has no sense of either decency or honor.

This should have been a day to put politics aside. A real leader would have done that, but he's no leader.

He's a whining child who forget both his place and his manners, and he ought to be ashamed of the disrespect he showed today for all who have served.

1. Yes, it was offensive and an insult
Why (in Frist's voice) I feel slapped in the face. ((not to make light of it or change the subject, that just popped in my mind and I had to laugh at the vision of his near-tears speech after the closed door session was announced))

Yes, it WAS offensive -- especially now that we know that it was the same speech he's given at least three other times! Every time he spits in the military's face, he says it's someone else doing it.

2. That IS the rub. Don't get dragged into the muck with the pig Chimp.
Fuck his repugnant rhetoric. No need to defend shit. Just keep hitting 'em with the real TRUTH -- "Chimpy used this day to play a disgraceful political game, and dishonored all veterans along the way." Pure slime.

3. I just watched part of it where the AWOL pussy dissed Kerry
I've never been more disgusted with not only Chimpy but the audience that clapped like automatons when he used his lies as political propaganda right in front of them.

He really doesn't care and I seriously consider him no different than Pol Pot.

4. Yes, but he pronounced most of the words right today
Chimpy gets a banana.

But if he wanted to impress me, he would have opened the floor to questions from the press.

6. The treasonous bastard honored our veterans by
spewing his propaganda. He is a shameless rat bastard. IMO, he is finished. He has been exposed as a full on LIAR.

Peace.

7. Unfortunately the bastard gets to appoint 3 SCOTUS judges....
The 1 he has already got confirmed, another 1 nominated,
and most likely 1 more thru retirement or death.

10. No way Big Yawn!
The rest of them can hang on for another--- what is it--- 35 months?

Besides.. after the 2006 election, Democrats will take over the majority of the U.S. Senate by one seat. Yep. :headbang: You'll see.

And then.. even if one of the other justices retired or expired.. we'd keep booting out butwad bush's nominee's with our "up or down vote" http://eliteleague.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol!.gif

16. One of them has cancer, some others are really old...
Edited on Sat Nov-12-05 01:14 AM by BigYawn
so I am thinking odds favor EITHER retirement OR death
could happen in 3 years. Hopefully 2006 will win us some
additional senate seats so that a radical religious nut
will not get sworn in.

9. About 80% of Slumpy's speech
was devoted to terra, instead of to the veterans. He most likely can't associate himself with anyone who served their
country honorably. So instead, he takes the low road (again) and bashes those who dare to disagree with him.

Truly sad that this man is president.

It actually took him 45 minutes to regurgitate this:

11. the ONLY positive thing I can say about the speech is that, for once, he
didn't come out in one of his play-soldier suits.

and WHY wasn't cheney struck by lightning as he swaggered to lay a wreath at the tomb of the unknowns? shouldn't that honour go to an actual military person or family member?

13. Veterans Day, veteran speech
http://www.sadlyno.com/archives/002012.html

Apologies to the poster who came up with this phrase. It was major chunks of an old speech, with extra insults to Democrats included.

15. I heartily agree with you, Clarkie1
This brings dishonor to all veterans, dead and alive!

Having a President use this day for partisan purposes is the most disgusting thing I have ever witnessed. This is as offensive as having Bush piss on the graves of the fallen, or that homophobic Kansas preacher crash veterans' memorial services with his "God Hates Fags" signs.

17. I was offended. It's a day for honoring all Veterans not for lying
to the public to make your own political statement.
