can take back the Senate and hold the Bush administration accountable. Link is to Reid's giveemhellharry.com and donations will go through ActBlue, and may be made individually.

Dear________,

Last week I asked you to join me in telling George Bush that he must change the course in Iraq. So far, more than 110,000 of you have signed the petition and more are signing on every hour. Let's keep this momentum going.

Together we can tell George Bush right now: You can no longer mislead Congress and the American people. It's time for an Iraq success strategy that will bring our troops home.

If you haven't signed please do - and if you have ask your friends to sign by visiting:

In the last week many of you have emailed and called me asking, "How can we be sure the Senate gets the answers on Iraq?" Well there is one way - help Democrats take back the Senate in 2006.

I should never have had to force the Senate into a closed session last week, but Republicans were not doing their jobs. For two years they have dragged their feet and refused to provide the American people with the answers they deserve. I pledge to you, when Democrats take back the Senate in 2006, we will get to the bottom of every misdeed this administration has committed.

Right now Democrats challenging Republicans in Senate races around the country need your help. Only if they win will we ever be able to get the truth the American people deserve.

Please contribute to these Senate candidates and help me hold Republicans accountable:

Once again thank you for all you do.

Thank you,

Harry Reid

1. Bernie! Good for Harry
I hope the Democrats send some resources towards Bernie Sanders. Even though Sanders is an independent, he'd be the most democratic Senator in the Senate.

2. Reid must recognize that Pennacchio is running.
He can not keep pretending he is not running. He can not just ignore him and it will go away.

Great post at Booman Tribune today about Chuck P., and I was getting ready to post it. They are shutting him out by trying to pretend he doesn't exist. Boo has a good write-up.

Reid and Schumer picked Casey, said the fact he is anti-choice doesn't matter. It does matter to me.

3. Here is a quote from the thread I mentioned.
"Schumer called up Governor Rendell and asked him who the best candidate would be to beat Rick Santorum. Rendell reportedly said, "Bob Casey, but he won't run, and you don't want him to run."

Schumer explained what happened next:

I said why wouldn't we want him to run, he said he's pro-life. He's a deeply religious Catholic man. Bob Casey."
"I said, those days are over Ed. Yes I'm pro-choice, but we need the best candidate. We can't insist that every democrat check off 18 different issues before they get (unintelligible) we could do that, we can't anymore. And so, we persuaded, Harry (Reid) using his very...Harry has amazing insights into people...and we together persuaded Bob Casey to run.

They persuaded Casey to run by assuring him that he would not face any competition in the primary. To that end they pressured the pro-choice Barbara Hafer to get out of the race."

We elected one candidate who is opposed to women's rights last night. That was the choice of the state for their governor, and he said to go forward together with God....or something like that. A governor actually affects mostly that one state....a senator will affect all of us women.

We are going to donate to the Pennacchio again for that very reason.
