Discuss: Does this mean Bush will be a campaign pariah for '06?
given the results so far tonight, i'm guessing GOP candidates will be scrambling to distance themselves from Bush for the next 12 months.

"George Who?"

1. Looks like the only place he will be welcomeo
to campaign in is Margaritaville. Those people who are handling him are making a massive number of bad decisions. It's time for them to kick back.

2. Still a year off

There can be many changes in the world, country, administration. We need to keep hitting hard on the ethics and incompetence.

I think tonight will help with recruiting candidates for 06 races.

4. Yes it does.
Frankly, it does, whether it does OR NOT.

PERCEPTION is EVERYTHING.

But yes, and it's thanks, in particular, to the governor's race in Virginia. He made a personal stop there at the last minute, putting his own name and credibility and all that marvelous political capital of his on the line. And everybody said so, too. The punditry about this, all day today, made that clear - that it was going to be a referendum on bush in one respect.

Well, NOW it's ammo we can use, and use LIBERALLY (pardon the pun!) to drive the point home for those too thick or in denial to want to face.

This officially renders bush RADIOACTIVE. Everybody was watching this to see if this was the signal to cue the Comeback Kid theme music. There was a LOT riding on this. And he blew it like it was another FEMA appointment.

Frankly, even if there's an attempt to spin otherwise, THIS IS WHAT IT IS. PERCEPTION IS EVERYTHING, and we can VERY legitimately and credibly say so now. And if anybody contests it, all you have to do is point to the state of Virginia.

5. So far it looks that way.
Let's take the St. Paul mayoral election: Last year Randy Kelly, a Democrat, endorsed Bush, which pissed off a lot of people at the time. Tonight that endorsement bit him on the ass, hard. Kelly wasn't really a terrible mayor, but he was absolutely slaughtered, 70%-30%, by the progressive Democrat who ran against him. The polls strongly suggest that the main reason he lost was the fact he supported Bush.

6. 'bit him on the ass.' I LOVE the fact that Kelly got pounded...
...I was outside Xcel Center when Kelly "welcomed" Bush to the Twin Cities. They had it on the jumbotron outside. I wanted to puke....Kelly was just fawning all over the sumbitch.

10. The whole lot of 'em are in deep doodoo with or without Shrub.
When Republicans start pitching tax cuts for millionaires in the same breath as discontinuing hot lunch for poor kids, it's a clear sign they've gone a step too far. Add to that the growing number of scandals in Congress and it's not an uphill battle for these people, it's an upmountain battle.

The phone ain't gonna be ringing anytime soon.

Good thing for him he's going to China soon. They don't allow street demonstrations there.
