Republicans spinning fiscal responsibility and great economy
Listening to the morning speeches on C-SPAN by the jittery Republicans in Congress, only a hermit could believe their words as even close to reality. Talking about fiscal rsponsibility and how great the economy is doing is mind-boggling.

Yes, when the oil companies rake in $10 billion in one quarter, that would definitely have an impact on stockholders and Wall Street but it has nothing but a negative impact on Main Street. So their numbers can be manipulated to satisfy their political longings but the reality is that more and more people are falling rapidly into poverty and these same Repubs rush to cut what is left of the social net.

And when they cut the deficit from $450 billion to $340 billion, they brag about a 25% cut in deficit. Only a flim-flam ogre unworthy of public service would offer such a incredible comment, when $320 billion dollar deficits are still the largest in the history of our country and are unsustainable. They cannot cut enough food stamps or Medicaid or Medicare to get out of this fiscal mess they have created.

1. Easy to counter this bunk
when you tell folks that the repukes are ready to cut Medicare, food stamps, child support enforcement, foster care, Medicaid, PLUS taking away the tax deduction for household mortgages. I'm surprised that there isn't a march on congressional offices by regular folks, complete with torches and pitchforks.

But there is a link by Rep De Fazio that nails their asses to the wall somewhere posted. I will look and re-link.

Here's the link from GD:
