"Concerned Women for America" THRILLED with Alito choice
Edited on Mon Oct-31-05 06:32 PM by Bluebear
WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Concerned Women for America (CWA) expressed its wholehearted support for President Bush's nomination of Judge Samuel Alito Jr., 55, to the U.S. Supreme Court. Judge Alito is eminently qualified and has a consistent record as a conservative constitutionalist during the past 15 years on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

"Judge Alito has always been one of our top choices for the Supreme Court," said Jan LaRue, CWA's chief counsel. "He has all of the qualifications needed: intellect, knowledge and experience in constitutional law, integrity, competence, humility and judicial temperament."

"Since about half of the current members of the Democratic caucus confirmed Alito in 1990, he should sail through to confirmation by an overwhelming majority. Judge Alito will help swing the Court back to the Constitution and restore the only balance that matters," LaRue concluded.

"We congratulate President Bush on an excellent choice. We urge the Senate to hold fair and dignified hearings and a speedy vote for this worthy nominee," said Mrs. Beverly LaHaye, founder and chairman of CWA.

3. Yeee! this is worse than I thought!
Schlafley was on 'relevant radio' catholic station recently chanting the mantra that the judiciary is the biggest threat to the U.S. today. Not terrorists, natural disasters, dwindling natural resources of global warming, but the judiciary.

what to do about it? the talking head asked.

"We need to keep them from ruling in areas that are of concern to us," she said, apparently with a straight face. OK, on 'areas of concern,' who the hell will rule?
this is awful.

4. They love "activist judges" when they are on their side.
Like, say, when they appoint Presidents.

15. Bugliosi wrote a great book, "The Betrayal of America."
very painstakingly shows how the supreme court justices handed over the presidency and defiled their positions n the nations's highest court. A shameful venture.
no, really, find and read it.

10. Beverly LaHaye....
"Yes, religion and politics do mix. America is a nation based on biblical principles. Christian values dominate our government. The test of those values is the Bible. Politicians who do not use the bible to guide their public and private lives do not belong in office." - Beverly LaHaye

Wife of "Left Behind" rapture-ready author Tim LaHaye.

9. Perhaps it's time for progressives to do "something" about the...
organizations who would support such extremists... Yes, they have the freedom to support anything they want, but do they have the right to not be undermined or defunded?

I guess I'm in a really subversive mindset today.

13. Here comes the propaganda barrage
If progressives aren't both smart and forceful (ie, if they don't play dirty) they're going to get steamrolled.
