“That’s right, I said I’m a hooker. I have to go up to total strangers, ask them for money and get them to expect me to be there when they need me. What does that sound like to you?”

-- Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite (R-FL), quoted by The Hill, comparing her profession to the world's oldest.

2. Still, you need to give her some room for the self-critique.

4. Unfortunately, this moran is my rep
We used to have Karen Thurman, who was a moderate Dem and served her constituents well. Jeb and Co redrew the districts to get a repuke in here. Ginny B-W has lost her home county in both elections... and her retired cop husband was arrested for stealing Thurman's campaign signs (he got off, natch).

Sigh.

5. She sounds like an insurance salesman.
"I have to go up to total strangers, ask them for money and get them to expect me to be there when they need me. What does that sound like to you?”

Like an insurance salesman.

However, she is an elected official, and that raises two questions in me:

1. Who is she asking for this money? (She's supposed to represent the people, but is she asking them, or corporations, for money?) and

2. They expect her to be there when they need her. But IS she there?

6. Pat Schroeder Said It Far Better
Didn't she once say that she told her mother she was a prostitute because she was ashamed to admit she was in politics?
