Intellegent Comment by Scarborough Part II
On Hardball a few minutes ago:

(Paraphrased)
Matthews: What about the idea of getting someone to run the whole show...somebody like General Franks did in Iraq.

Scarborough: I thought that's what the director of FEMA was supposed to do....

Amazing, and so true.

Of course, Scarborough's agenda is also to dismantle the federal government and to push everything off on the states. Nevertheless, an intelligent comment!

1. I'll mark that down right next to asking Norquist if drowning the Federal
... Government is as much fun as he thought it'd be.

2. He said Jame Witt knew how to run FEMA. He said Lawton Chiles
and Jeb Bush knew how to run a state after a Hurricane but Barbour and Blanco weren't as prepared.

I thought that was fair because he is including Barbour and has been going after him for the past week.

He also laughed at Matthew's idea of someone like Guiliani coming down to run things. He said "Rudy doesn't know how to run a Hurricane response".

5. He constantly surprises me
I think on his show he is deliberately more obtuse than he actually is. Everytime I've seen him on Hardball (tonight, election coverage etc.) he has been ok, intelligent even.

8. He and his family have been taking relief supplies over to Mississippi
and finding all kinds of road blocks by FEMA and the Government AFTER they were the only ones bringing people help for way too long. He identifies with the people and he has seen their suffering. He was taking supplies to the shelter that has now been cleared out because everyone has diarrhea. It is personal to him. He is from the area - Mississippi coast and FL panhandle.

He is pissed. He isn't blinded by Rove colored glasses and, sometimes, he will call them on their bullshit.

10. Perhaps I should have said "Reasonable comment..."
Because you're right; he isn't stupid by any means.

11. You've got your Hannitys and your Scarboroughs. Hannity is just
a Talking Point spouting, Bushbot who will change his views on a dime depending on who is saying it. Scarborough wont always follow the party line but he is a conservative.
