Cindy should follow in Alice Paul's footsteps.

During the Wilson Administration, feminist Alice Paul and her National Women's Party led a 24-hour, continuous protest outside the White House to call attention to the Women's Suffrage Amendment, which had been tied up in Congress for decades, and which Wilson refused to openly support.

Cindy Sheehan is doing something similar, holding vigil three miles away from Tenderbrain Ranch, calling for * to meet with her and justify why her son, and nearly 2000 others, were needlessly killed in an ill-conceived, ill-planned, unnecessary war. She has said that if * won't meet with her there, she'll follow him to DC.

By the time she gets there, we ought to have thousands of volunteers lined up. But instead of the gathering that we have with Camp Casey, we should have a continuous, 24-hour a day, 7 day a week, candlelight vigil outside the White House.

Imagine it. At least one person constantly on vigil, keeping their flame alight, until we finally end this disaster of a war.

Alice Paul showed us the way in the teens. Cindy Sheehan is showing us the way right now down in Camp Casey. I say let's not only help her with her burden, let's make it something that will go down in history.

for the past 4 or 5 days. Everytime I see Cindy I think about Hillary Swank/Alice Paul. The movie was so compelling, just like Cindy.

I wanted to know why I was never taught about Alice Paul in school. The women were TORTURED so we could vote. Now, whenever I meet a woman who tells me she doesn't vote, I read them the riot act.
