Testing the waters: My little idea to help take back the White House.
Some of you may have heard of Paul Hackett. http://www.hackettforcongress.com He is a former Marine, and the first to Iraq War veteran to run for Congress. The district he is running in Ohio 02 is one of the most strongly Republican districts in the state. Hackett is a Progressive Democrat!

My idea here is to see how a Republican district would react to a Marine that tells the truth about Iraq, social security, and other issues. If Democrats can win with a 'military vote' in strong red areas it would perhaps sway more of us to support General Wesley Clark in the 08 primary. I think a lot of Clark fans would be overjoyed if Paul Hackett can win this. Perhaps a four star General will help take back some red states a few years down the road. Lets find out.

Test the waters. Help spread the word about Paul, and if you can contribute to his campaign. Encourage other to contribute as well. The election is August 2nd! So if can donate online, this way the funds are immediately available to help pay for: advertising, get out the vote activities, mailings, brochures, and all the other things that make campaigning expensive. Before you ask yes I do practice what I preach! I kicked him $30. Grassroots, small donations help in large quantities. Give what you can. His opponent Jean Schmidt has a lot of cash on hand and she is campaigning on being a Bush supporter. With low approval ratings for the GOP controlled Congress and White House this race could be ours for the taking.

I was not sure what to think until I went to his website. Please take a look for yourself. http://hackettforcongress.com/

I just found this as well: http://blog.dccc.org/mt/archives/003193.html I don't know what took the DCCC so long!

1. they'll slander him unmercifully
by the time the smear machine is done, he will have never served in the military, will have been a proven coward while he was in the military (never mind the contradiction), will be mentally ill and will be a stooge of the terrorists.

Other than that, he'll rock.

Except with the 75% of repuke voters who don't care about anything except the "R" beside the name.

2. He will be hard to smear....
He was out of the marines for a good few years, volunteered to go back on his own. He was in Falujia for the November assault.

But, you could be right. Good race to watch.

4. That is why I think it is so important for him to win.
If he can win, Clark can win. And I am a Feingold guy!
