Woodward Came Up Really Small on Tweety's show last night
Totally Pooh-poohed, The Miller-Cooper Case. He thought that the Special Prosecutor was "out of control" "as was the judge".

My favorite: "Novak has all ready explained this, he misused the term operative, she was an 'analyst'" "Nothing will come of this"

Thanks, Woody!:argh:

1. Way to suck up to those white house "sources" Woody
You are a disgraceful sellout. Besides, Josh Marshall has pointed out that Novak knows perfectly well what the words "operative" and "analyst" mean.

Let’s cut the mumbo-jumbo: past evidence suggests that Novak only uses this phrase to refer to clandestine agents. In this case, when he has every reason to run away from that meaning of the phrase, he suddenly runs away from that meaning. Especially with all the other evidence at hand, that just defies credibility. Everything points to the conclusion that Novak did know. That would mean, necessarily, that his sources knew too.

See link for details of past usage:

2. Woodward went over to the dark side years ago
He's lost to the cause of truth and justice. He's not even half the man Bernstein is, and I sometimes wonder if Watergate would have come out if Woodward had been on his own.

3. Gagged at what Bob said on Larry King re Bush's reaction to London blasts
You will too...and wonder why on earth this man would suck up to Bush is such a disgusting way!

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0507/07/lkl.01.html

KING: Bob Woodward, what do you think?

WOODWARD: Well, I think Jim is right. And we're in a period of transition. John Negroponte has taken over as director of national intelligence so the reporting lines are being changed and adjusted and that always takes time and there's a certain amount of uncertainty. There's a new organization in the FBI that is going to hopefully integrate all of the information and the CIA has made strides here.

But you know, this -- one of the things that I think is really interesting here is watching President Bush today when he came out and made his statement. I remember a couple of years ago one of the things he said is the leader has to be the calcium in the backbone. And you could almost see the calcium flowing into his backbone. He is going to be more determined in the war on terror. He is going to come back from this G-8 meeting once again a wartime president.

4. Woodward shilled as usual for his Bushmasters. Mr. "NostoryinEnron" who
also could find nothing Bush1 did wrong in IranContra or BCCI, either. Nope, just the aiding and funding of terrorists and profitting off their Bin Laden pals. And the obstructing of the investigation into the funding of global terrorism. That's all...no big deal.

6. He wants...
...Watergate to be the biggest story ever....and nothing to over-shadow it. Plamegate followed by a Bush impeachment would make Watergate look like a minor incident and Clinton's impeachment look like high school pranks. And Bob Woodward would no longer be the journalist of our lifetime.

7. Sort of like "The Keeper of His OWN Flame" ,Eh?
Bob's a mentally nimble guy, he knows the difference in this 1st Amendment defense, namely:

Miller & Cooper are using it to PROTECT criminal activity in the White House.:argh:

8. One hit wonder now corporate media whore interested in makin' money and
being an simulated pundit. He got lucky once when he was young and had a conscience and has made a career out of it. He is overly impressed with the insight and discernment of his own shallow opinions. Kisses the MSM and conservative establishment’s ass to sell books and maintain access while fostering an illusion of still being an investigative journalist. SELLOUT but living real good with little real effort.

9. Amazed me how Woodward was so passionate about
how evil Nixon was and yet refuses to see Bushco is just as bad if not worse!!

In the interview, he spoke about how "criminal" it was that Nixon & Co would sit around planning "how to screw people" for not being on their side. Then, a few minutes later, he brushes off the outing of Valerie Plame to punish Joe Wilson for not supporting Bush's fixing of intelligence to start a war as overblown.

Guess being a fullblown hypocrite is not something that keeps Mr. Woodward up at night.

10. That's cuz Watergate was engineered by Poppy Bush. Woodward is just
another one of Poppy's tools. Ever wonder why Woodward could bever find stories that would expose Poppy Bush or his evil spawn, but can always find ways to make their evil acts seem justifiable?

11. It seems that Woodward has been an insider for way too long,
Edited on Sat Jul-09-05 01:27 PM by ocelot
and now he thinks like one of them. I've been reading his new book about Deep Throat (say what you want about Woodward; but the Watergate stuff is fascinating, and I wanted to read it because I was so caught up in the whole drama at the time), and one thing that stands out is how Woodward, who was in his 20s and had worked for the Post as a crime reporter for only a few months, was so aggressive and driven to get the story. Now, 30 years later, having become famous for his reporting, he's just coasting along as part of the establishment he once investigated -- and I don't think he even really realizes the extent to which he's become one of them. Assimilated, Borg. Which is really too bad, because we desperately need journalists of the sort he once was.
