the fatherland security guy, various repuke "terrorism experts" with hardons for the evil dewar alqaeda terrorists, blair, giuliani, pataki . . .

not one democrat, certainly no counter to the spew of "us versus them" evil dewar terrorist rhetoric and constant allusions to 9-11

this is just like after 9-11.

1. You can bet your bippy...
That as soon as a Dem says a peep, the wingnuts will scream that they're politicizing it.

17.  I was just fantasizing about that a little while ago
what such a report re: Kerry and any announcement from him look like on CNN:

"John Kerry, failed presidential candidate, said today in response to the London bombing that such an event only hightlighted that we ... wasting time... need .... in order to get out of Iraq...he... they... training... oh, sorry, we've lost the signal. Oh well, nothing we didn't hear on the campaign trail anyway, eh? Back to you Candy."

32. Remember Kerry's reply to an audience member during a debate
when reminded that no attack had occurred on US soil since
9-11?

Kerry said that terrorists don't strike in a predictable fashion. They wait, sometimes for long periods, before making their next attack. Will America, or its Coalition members be prepared?

Kerry's answer, and yesterday's events, debunk the "I support Bush because there's been no further attack since 9-11" logic quite well. But, count on the trance-like Bush supporters to continue to entertain it.

American soil, I reckon. I bet the British won't see how they're being kept safer, however.

35. The Freepers are a bunch of brown-shirted hoodlums, not typical of America
The average American is going to start to open his/her eyes post UK bombing and realize that the US will, indeed, be hit again. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but again. Bank on it. And it's because of the Bushies and Blair.

More Americans will be writing their representatives, saying they are scared, and they should be scared. Bush has reduced America to frightening circumstances.

4. It's called a lack of BALLS!
Kerry released this statement:

“Cold blooded killers will not for a moment stop the critical work of the G-8 nations in our commitment to end poverty around the globe.”

21. The question is really centered on why he immediately makes the
assumption that the attack had anything to do with G8 specifically...

My assertion is that if he's going to make any statement why tie it to G8 (essentially giving Bush and Blair a pass).

At this point the only info we have states that it was done in answer to acts of aggression against the Muslim people (Iraq)...

And Republican majorities in the Congress and Senate, who wants to hear from Democrats? Noone is interested in what the loyal opposition has to say at a time like this. They want to hear from the people in charge.

31. The repukes were there first with a consistent message
it was "the terrorists" (Islamic, just like the ones who attacked us on 9-11, who hate freedom, who have no respect for life, just like the caricature of an enemy we created to launch the "war on terror" against).

By the time the Dems had anything to say, the bombings were already framed to the bushturd's advantage.

As the Dems' point man on FP and NS, he's getting a lot of requests for appearances, op eds, etc. so I imagine we'll be seeing a lot of him in the next several days.

29. Great!
Wes Clark is a reassuring Democrat to see talking about terrorism. I'm sure he won't be giving us the "We will kill them all" line that everyone has latched onto! I'm sure that he'll have something more substansive to say!

30. I can live with that!
I'd love to see Wes Clark's handsome mug and intelligent insight plastered all over this country for the next few days.

Maybe some waivering Republicans might finally understand why this bombing probably would NOT have happened if not for the misadventure in Iraq.
