3. I can't remember who said this
(I think Bill Maher) but it was something about how it would have involved mobs with torches and pitchforks if Clinton had done any of the stuff Bush has done.

6. And he would have been tarred and feathered and hanged from
the nearest blooming cherry tree, spearheaded by Strom and Jesse and Trent.

7. If Clinton had lied this country into war
Edited on Tue May-31-05 05:18 PM by Jack Rabbit
EDITED for typing

If Clinton had lied this country into war, I'd would have clamored for his impeachment and to haul him up before an international war crimes tribunal and I hope everybody else here would have, too.

After all, that's what you're supposed to do with somebody who lies his way into a war.

10. Yes ...
I like Clinton as a person, but if he'd come up with that unilateral pre-emptive invasion idea, on Iraq or anybody else, I would have lobbied my leader (the Prime Minister of Canada) to cancel any diplomatic visits, recall our ambassador, and go on national TV expressing our country's displeasure and disappointment.

8. The generals would have refused the orders.
It took the "scare" of 9/11, rumsfeld and the neocons to make war possible.

16. God I don't know. Ok I admit it...
I did get sorta hung up on the blue dress thing. But was it really a blue dress? Or was it the flower pot in the corner instead.

11. Unlike DEMs, Top Republicans would not be afraid of "The Memo"
Edited on Tue May-31-05 05:18 PM by Dr Fate
And they would be on TV every night calling him a "liar" and using that word. They would hold up a copy of the memo, on TV.

They would itemize the lies, and force Democrats to split hairs over whether they were "lies" or not.

Then they would send all the top, household name Republicans on TV to make hay about the UK memo- its discussion would not be limited to just 3rd string congressmen on CSPAN and on websites.

They would not care if they had the majority or not- they would still all go on TV and on the radio to get public perception on their side, thus wearing down his political capital.

Now, compare this to what top DEMs have done- they REFUSE to call Bush a liar on TV(And use that word- and then list each lie) and they REFUSE to bring up the memo on TV.

Stop blaming the media and ask yourself what Dean, Kerry, Hillary & Reid are doing differently than the GOP did in the 90's.

14. Weren't the RWers rejoicing when
the soldiers' bodies were being dragged through the streets of Somalia 20 times an hour on CNN?

15. I wouldn't say they were rejoicing,
but they were whipping themselves into a righteous fury, which they then turned on Clinton. After all, he was the one who sent them...

oh. It was Bush1 who sent them there.

Never mind - we can always find something else to pin on Clinton.
