Interesting take on Ann Coulter's column on Jews and pandering.

That woman has vitriol for everyone it seems - Helen Thomas being described as an 'old Arab' as if that was germane to her being a liberal voice some how. I say the "race" in on in New York. Ann is simply trying to paint liberal support for Democratic leaders as something unpalatable. Like she always does - she tries to teach what & whom is to be hated. Now it seems it is 'panderers'. But only Democratic ones.

I have little affection for Ms. Coulter's style, or for many of her opinions; I've strongly criticized her in the past for things she's written. Still, I wonder whether the Jews/pandering item might be sarcasm gone awry. Here's the context of her quote:

He incited an anti-Semitic pogrom against a Jewish-owned clothing store in Harlem, Freddy's, ending in a blaze of bullets and fire that left several employees dead. So while the other Democrats talk about their personal tragedies, Sharpton goes around creating personal tragedies.

In addition to having a number of family deaths among them, the Democrats' other big idea – too nuanced for a bumper sticker – is that many of them have Jewish ancestry. There's Joe Lieberman: Always Jewish. Wesley Clark: Found Out His Father Was Jewish in College. John Kerry: Jewish Since He Began Presidential Fund-Raising. Howard Dean: Married to a Jew. 1. Go ahead and despise here more. I don't think she's being ironic.

In fact, I think the woman is completely without any sense or irony or any experience with the comedic perspective of life.

6. I do think you find the 'nuts' being ironic without meaning to be. I mean

I know that at some level Ann thinks she is in control of the 'game'. But no - too much kool-aid and you loose touch with reality - then how would you know when your humor is more telling about you than it is about the people you seem to be direct it at.

They justify the excess by some inner notion of irony, which never manifests and which is really a screen for their self-loathing expressed as a projection onothers. That's the obtuse version of what your'e saying. I'm being ironic. I saw a picture of her recently stradling the head stone of Sen. Jos. McCarthy. Now that's a girl that wants people to think she's bad. I just think she's pathetic and vile

I think the Newsweek cover was also telling. It said worlds about the story editor on up. They're probably all covert Coulters. "The horror, the horror."

9. Really - I thought the article was informative and good for them for

obviously going with a distorted photo when she must have insisted that her long, long legs, all the way down to the bows on her 'love pumps', must be shown in the cover photo. I can barely imagine how much fun the art department had.

When they quoted her as saying: "as long as i make my friends laugh I am happy" or some such thing I finally got her. That clarified a whole lot about her role for me. It is the type of humor that attacks that she is teaching. Instead of the self effacing (country-effacing) actualizing humor of Jon Stuart or Maher and other professional comedians & humorists use, she has invented a 'new type' (well a new genre for adults to use - I recall such humor in the school yard). It seems - changing adult humor itself is part of the master plan.

So though they didn't rake her over the coals - I was glad i had a chance to read up on what makes her tick.

in our dreams.

But, Wes's father was Jewish, as he found out when he was grown. The "K" in Wesley K. Clark, is for Kanne, his birth-father's name. And, as I understand, his father did descend from "generations of rabbis".

I don't know what that means for any good reason, but I do know that Ann Coulter has never uttered a public word that has not been said in complete hatred for anyone who isn't white, Christian, and Extremist-RW Republican.
