To win, Democrats have to keep pointing out that...
the Democrats are dealing with reality while the Republicans are dealing in a fantasy world.
Part of the reality is that there are few easy answers; all problems need serious consideration, and serious people working for solutions. In the real world, we are a very diverse group of people. We should embrace the diversity, not be pulled apart by it.
We have to deal with;
Iraq, Afghanistan, Human Rights violations committed by Americans, the Federal Deficit, trade deficits, Health Care, high priced medicine, pollution that is ruining lives, schools that are in serious trouble, a workforce that is only getting part time employment, farmers getting driven from their farms, ... etc.

There is no such thing as a "Moderate Republican". Every damn one of the Republicans have stood by Bush while things have gotten worse and worse. Even John McCain has sold his soul cheaply to the Neo-Con radicals.
The Republicans, especially Bush and Company, not only don't have answers to these problems, THEY MAKE IT ALL WORSE.
