Does anyone else here think that if Ken Lay
gets convicted, Bushy will pardon him when he leaves office?

1. Aw Jeez. They're all pardoning one another...
Band of Crooks, Liars and Thieves.

At least we're honest about it.

5. I've been watching the progress of the trial
Back in Aug. or Sept. when the outlook for a second Buxh term was uncertain, Lay waived his right to a jury trial in an apparent attempt to speed up his trial.
I think if Buxh had been on his way out in January he could have had the trial wrapped up in time for a last minute pardon.

As it is, after Buxh was inaugurated his lawyer claimed to have "other business" to attend to and the trial was postponed until NEXT SPRING! His attorneys should be able to milk the trial for at least a year after that, taking it to spring of 2007.

Sentencing will probably take in another 6-8 months (fall-winter '07).

I think he'll need another year of stalling to gain the ultimate pardon without serving a day or repaying a nickle.
I don't doubt for a minute that he can pull it off.

We'll hear Buxh say: "Ken Lay was just a good businessman who was caught up in bad accounting practices".
