3. I googled the lyrics:
WOW! Not too subtle either!
-----------
WHY DO THEY ALWAYS SEND THE POOR!
My god is of spiteful blood with morbid eels.
Victorious, victorious, steel,
Can you stand and kneel?
Marching forward hypocritic
and hypnotic computers.
You depend on our protection,

Yet you feed us lies from the table cloth.
la la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.

kneeling roses disappearing,
into Moses’ dry mouth,
breaking into Fort Knox,
stealing our intentions,
every city gripped in oil,
Crying FREEDOM!

Handed to absolution,
Still you feed us lies from the table cloth.
La la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.

Blast off, its Party time,
And we all live in a fascist nation,
Blast off , its party time,
And where the fuck are you?
….. Yeah
Where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?

Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?

Kneeling roses disappearing,
into Moses’ dry mouth,
breaking into Fort Knox,
stealing our intentions,
every city gripped in oil,
Crying FREEDOM!

Handed to absolution,
Still you feed us lies from the tablecloth.
la la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.

Where the fuck are you!
Where the fuck are you!

Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why, do, they always send the poor
They only send the poor

4. Record companies allow this?
I thought they started to crack down on anti-war songs right after 9/11. Around the time of Clear Channel's list of songs to not play.

5. Shocked! Shocked I am!
I remember the Clear Channel list - Imagine, by John Lennon, was on the list. There is a classic rock channel in Detroit that has not been taken over yet, and they not only continued to play Imagine, they seemed to play it a few times a day :)

8. Wow! Those lyrics send a chill down my spine
System of a Down has written some rousing songs before, replete with incredibly stirring lyrics, but they're generally more abstract and less visceral than this. What an incredible song. This is probably on its way to becoming an antiwar anthem.

7. Wow....excellent video....Hope MTV will have guts unlike last time
I remember that their last anti-war video (directed by M. Moore) was barely part of the station's regular rotation, even though System of A Down was a multi-platinum band. Hopefully this one will get enough play to have the message ingrained into the apathetic MTV-watchers.

Nonetheless, I was very impressed with the song and its lyrics. I expect great music from the band this year since they are practically the only political band that is part of the mainstream.

CD out May 17th.
